A really good article but in my opinion I do believe dressing and being clean goes much deeper into the inner thinking of a person. We tend to express a lot by the signs and symbols of who we present ourselves as. We do not even wish to admit the truth even to a dear loved one. While our outward Easter Bunny does not need to be all frilled up and phony it does make a statement about us, our situation, our fears or hidden thinking and who we really are. It truly hurts us who care for someone as to why they persist as they do. Will you ever get to the bottom of it. I think not until he lets you. I guess my question would be if he was like this before you met. How was the environment he grew up in and what was emphasized? Did you get the Easter Bunny package and now the comfort zone has returned? Only his close family knows that? Keep trying though. Best wishes and good luck.

Scientology Controversies Heat Up With Kidman Wanting Kids Out; Video Exposes Truth

Abigail, Any religion which pulls a family apart is suspect. I hope Nicole, as the children's mother, has at least equal sway over their views and say over their lives. They should be open to all the possibilities of the world and, when adults, given the opportunity to choose. I don't understand what sway Scientology has over so many of Hollywood's and music's stars, though. How can it be seen as anything but a cult? I guess too many stars are insecure at the personal core. Perhaps that is why they are so good at portraying so many different people on screen. But any belief which separates families is questionable. And any belief which involves handing over millions of dollars should be investigated. But, then, to my mind, religion itself is suspect. Belief and models of behaviour can be a positive, but religion tends to breed exclusivity, intolerance and too often, hatred. Good article, and I wish Nicole luck, or more specifically, her children.

Hi Abigail, As someone who grew up with a preacher father I can tell you that people can pull religion out of thin air, at a moments notice. Too many times an actors influence on the screen translates into real life. A great article. Very informative.

The main thing people should know about using the Internet is NEVER use your REAL name for any online actiivity of any description and THIS includes face book despite the fact you wnat people to find you! People will find you and as Jean says those people might be future employers, they could also be future husbands and wives. Seeing who your new love flirted with in the past and HOW isn't gonna help your relationship any. Great article.

Great article, Abigail. When I gave my granddaughter a cell phone I did have the internet and text messaging locked thru my subscriber---so that eliminated that problem; however, she eventually lost her cell phone because she couldn't keep her grades up and abused her allotted number of minutes. Another problem is I'm still having to pay for a phone she can't use because my subscription is on a two-year contract--sometimes even adults have to learn the hard way! SEG

Talk to your teen about the future. Many don't realize that what they put on the internet IS NOT private and will stay in the Google "cache" for literally years even after they delete it. Future employers WILL be able to access pretty much ANYTHING they post now! I predict there will be an epidemic in the near future of students graduating from colleges with good education, good grades and all the right stuff but losing good jobs over indiscretions still out there in cyber space. Employers will not be impressed with naked or near naked videos, stupid pranks, bullying etc.

Conversations With God Books Mislead Children

It's also very strange to me that Christians usually forget about Jesus. Strange huh? What did Jesus teach us? Apparently nothing according to all this hate, separation, and confusion. He died for our sins. Does that not tell the story?
Elaine from USA: (24 days 17 hours ago.)
Jesus did not die for our sins. He came here to show us and tell us the Truth of Who We Are. God is All there Is. There is only One of us here. We are all connected. Beware of the bible. The interpretation of those of whom you speak were disciples of Jesus' disciples. The writers of the New Testament never met the man. Jesus, along with every Master, has said "ye too are Gods". You are made in God's likeness. What can it be but arrogance, to deny the Truth of Who You Are and Who you are meant to Be. You do not see the perfection but it exists. Have faith and all will be made known to you. Peace.

Myke from MN: (31 days 10 hours ago.)
I hope you also understand that the churches want you to believe we are born into sin. What a better way to keep you attending. That's like a doctor telling you that you are born with cancer. It's up to us to realize the illusion and see that God is within us as our souls and we don't NEED TO BE SAVED.. we are already saved.

Myke from MN: (31 days 10 hours ago.)
ahhh, because they're kids?? I believe this is the biggest lie we've ever been served. We are born into sin.. What? Nothing like a little guilt to start your life off. You really think God would do this? Kids also do very many loving things without even knowing it. I'm sure you see what I'm saying.

Mike from MN: (31 days 13 hours ago.)
Abigail, this is Mike again.. The very fact that you believe we are born into sin is what is causing all the problems.. Why would God bring us into this world in that manner? WE ARE BORN INTO LOVE!!!!

Mike, the fact that I believe we are born into sin isn't the problem. The fact that WE ARE BORN INTO SIN is. It's what my Bible teaches. Yes, it's what I believe. But what I believe isn't what matters. Let me ask you a question: if we are born into love, why do so many parents deal with toddlers and young children who are defiant, who bite, hit, are aggressive, who lie and manipulate. I have heard numerous times from numerous sources that young children test the limits of their parents boundaries. If those children were born into love, why would they do that? Why would they want to see how much they could get away with before they were punished?

Elaine: (31 days 17 hours ago.)
Love one another as I have loved you. There is no exceptions list. None. Sinners do not exist as God is perfect and thus so are his creations. If you are a sinner then God is not omnipotent and you are godless. Beware and question your authorities, including the Bible. Love should always be your filter. And as we know, Love accepts and bears all things. That is the only thing of which you need to base your life on. Peace.

Thanks for the response. I would challenge your definition of perfect, though. As Inigo Montoya said in The Princess Bride, "I do not think it means what you think it means." God's perfection, His omnipotence has nothing to do with our imperfectness. He was perfect before we came along, and He'll be perfect after we leave. You are correct that Love should be our filter. And I try to use it as my filter everyday. I don't know that my understanding of love and your understanding of love are the same. And, frankly, since it isn't our place to judge (it's God's place) all that's left is to love one another, anyway. But again, I think you are putting God's judgment, God's view of our imperfectness on me. It's not my decision, whether or not we are sinners. It's God's.

Much implied and expressed intolerance here. The scriptures given are prime examples of brain washing techniques. No matter what your beliefs are, you should never be afraid of exploring or thinking, and any 'master' who tells you otherwise deserves suspicion. Anyone who professes love and acts on it, is a worthy person and I'm sure Jesus would be more than willing and able to love and forgive - if there is anything to be forgiven. A true God would be inclusive, not exclusive. This is where religion goes astray and leads to hate, war and destruction. I'm not against God, but religion has much to answer for.

Hannah, thanks for the comment. It depends on what you mean by intolerance. If you mean intolerance of wrong teaching and misguided "teachers," then color me intolerant! If you mean intolerant of any person who doesn't believe exactly like I do, then I take offense to that. On your other points, why would a true God be inclusive? what would He have to gain by not having standards? The hard truth is the true God is very, very exclusive. He's so exclusive that no one can be allowed in on his (or her) own merits. We couldn't do it. We can not be good enough on our own to be what God expects us to be, which is why He sent His Son to pay the price for us. To pay admission for us, if you will. To me, that's a true God. a God who, despite His extreme exclusivity, still finds a way to include us. And I am thankful! On a side note, I would encourage you to find your namesake, Hannah, in the Old Testament of the Bible. Her truth is a good one! One of my favorite prayers.

McDonalds Takes Vital Role In National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce
Anonymous2 from Fremont, CA: (42 days ago.)
"what do any of the above chambers you listed have to do with sexual preference? I think I made my point." They have to do with pointing out an underlying reasoning for the existence of these groups in the first place. I think the bigger question is do you have the same "issues" when it comes to the existence to a MULTITUDE of other "chambers of commerce"? And another example would be the CHRISTIAN chamber of commerce...

Interesting that you bring up the Christian Chamber of Commerce. Yes, I do have a problem with the Christian Chamber, just like I have a problem with GodTube, the Christian version of Myspace, CCM and everything else that Christians come up with to copy society without actually engaging it. And truthfully, I think as long as we as a country continue to segregate ourselves based on race, gender, sexual preference, type of pet, whatever, discrimination based on any or all of the above will continue to be a problem.

Interesting article Abigail. My take is that the Chamber of Commerce is primarily a networking entity. You would think that one organization could serve the needs of all of these groups but the chamber spinoffs probably emerge as people feel left out of the larger group's networking activity. So if they feel that way, they start their own group. I don't exactly understand how McDonalds would benefit by joining but the existence of a gay chamber kinda makes sense.

In highschool, we had a teacher who hated peanut butter. So on April Fool's Day, we hid a huge glob of it in a margarine tub at the back of the top shelf of her lecturn. We could barely keep from laughing out loud while watching her occasionally sniff the air and look around. She never said anything and we all left at the end of the hour. We found out the next day that it took her almost all day to figure it out. On another AFD with a different teacher, he was called to the office for some reason and we all scrambled around and completely reversed the entire classroom. He was not amused! Oh well, we had a ball doing it.

My 2 year old daugher touches herself all the time and likes to masturbate against sofas and with toys... Should I contact the exorcist? I was born Catholic, they taught me to fear God, and that I was born a sinner.... Should I demmand Adam for a sin I didn't want on the first place? Christ died on the cross for me... but I wasn't born at that time... so how come? People who don't believe in God go to hell. So I guess my peruvian ancestors "the Incas" who believe the Sun was their God are waiting for me in hell? Do Christians believe in re-encarnation? NO? so I guess... the Dalai Lama is going to hell? People believe blindly on a book based on manuscripts which were written, edited, re-written, re-edited by humans and not God? My religion is better than yours! That's all I hear from "religious people".... personally I believe in God, in Christ... just in the same way I believe in Buddah; but I don't have a religion. Religions separate, they don't unite. Isn't that what God wants? all of us united?.... or only the ones who believe in him? Are you sure? Maybe is not God's voice the one you hear.... is your pastor's opinion on God. What will happen if tomorrow Jesus comes back to earth? What if he tell's all of us... "You got it all wrong". Don't get angry at people with other believes, with other religions, with other sexual preferences, just learn to love them. I hope you still love your children even if they turn around, look at you in the eye and say: Mommy I'm Gay. Don't worry they won't go to hell, they don't have a demon inside, they are not a mistake of nature, or sinners. They are still your children, learn to love them for what they are. Search deep in your soul... the answer is there.

Carlos, thanks for the comment. Here's my problem, though. As I read the comments to this article, and others written by Christians, the themes are always the same. "You are closed-minded." "You think everyone unlike yourself is evil." "You're denouncing homosexuality, so you must hate all gay people." "You don't love anyone who isn't just like you." Why is it unfair for me to stereotype you, but completely fair for you to stereotype me? And to answer my own question, neither of us is in a position to assume we know anything about the other. I can tell you what I believe about the world and about spiritual matters, and you can do the same. But please don't pretend to know what I would think of my children if they told me they were gay.

Abigail what you have done or failed to do is the question. Now on the other side school is necessary and I endorse it 1000% and certainly there are many people who are capable and extrodinary because of their education. However, reality also says there are too many with a degree who can't get the job done. I learned a long time ago that a degree means you have finished school sucessfully. It does not say you are smart or capable, just that you finished. It is in the application of that knowledge that it all counts. Good article.

Abigail, Being a teacher for over 9 years, 7 at the college / university level, and studying this problem outright, yes, in most cases a degree is a waste of time. I'm actually writing a book titled Education is a Waste of Time. To a great degree (no pun intended) it is. When you work as an employee or even self-employed, you lose 40 to 50% of your money to the gov. Also, those you work for tell you when to come and go, how much you're worth and whether or not you work. Not a very secure situation, is it? Job security being a myth. In my research, time and time again I’ve encounter people who tell me that getting their degree was a waste of time. Before getting mine, I worked in the computer field and most who work there don't have their degrees. If you take a realistic look at companies, most of the interesting work is done by the vision person (owner) and a few managers. Most are paper pushers. That's what a company is all about. They mostly need customer service, account managers, payers, receivers, senders, deliverers, picker uppers, and so on. And the only place you get tax breaks are as a developer, investor, or business owner because the gov. wants people to provide affordable housing and jobs. That's where opportunities abound. And it's interesting to note that my two wealthiest friends are a high school dropout and a guy that barely graduated from college. And his idea of intellectual activity is watching basketball and spending his money. I don't think he owns a book. But I'll have to look around his house again. Maybe there's one hidden in his closet. Oh, I should mention that my goal in going back and getting my degree was only to gain experience teaching, researching, writing, lecturing for my eventual departure to take my teaching (coaching) to the private sector, which I have done. And here’s where a major problem exists. Few go to college with goals. They see it as an end all and cure all. No such luck. Because as an employee (colleges are mostly employee factories) you are beholden to three entities: government, banks, credit card companies. And those big money makers don’t want the “job-security-get-an-education” myth dispelled. As regards goal setting, consider this: a class of Harvard graduates were surveyed years later, and those who set goals prospered. As a matter of fact, the 3% who set goals made more money than the entire 97% who didn’t. Education? Sure, but not the variety that is merely foisted on us as the next cure-all, end-all.

Anonymous: (65 days 5 hours ago.)
Many will not know what "HCSB" means. Could you give the full Bible version name? This article lays out the true story, from the scripture source, of those days when God was bringing to fulfillment what He had said from ages past. It bears repeating has done here. We take much for granted. Like many eternal truths, the reality and significance of the Resurrection are often hidden from the wise and revealed to the humble or poor in spirit.

I thought the primary purpose of education was to educate, that is: read, write and add up. The 'collective' comes as a consequence of belonging and group, but it is not the primary purpose of going to school! Is the quoted law really from 1961 or 1691?

Interesting article, Abigail. I have heard of homeschooled kids exceeding and falling well behind their private and public school peers. It used to be a requirement that all homeschooled kids were tested, I think every other year. For some families, homeschooling works great, for others, it isn't a wise option, but a blanket homeschool ruling like the one made in CA doesn't fit everyone. Bottom line, it may be about money. The NEA may be calling in some favors.

And so it begins. Perhaps they should, 4 times a year, match test scores between homeschooled and public schooled children.

I didn't really believe it till I looked for myself. Which now makes it "unbelievable" I don't know what's worse, the females that ask or the males that give ? I had a girlfriend once that thought she wanted them, she asked me what I thought and I said sure...get one on your forehead and one on your back. I was joking ofcourse, as I was hoping she was too. Yeah , she had "little ones" but I loved them and they were perfect. Did I want them bigger ....NO. But that is the womans choice.

i totally agree with the vision of Mike from MN, and really it does seem like you had discovered the truth in the Dialogue with God and the truth of life, and i know you stiil are catholic and have read the bibile and stuff but still..you comprehended that is not just one true religion that will save the world and that we are not doomed in condemnation because of sins and because if we dont follow the bibile then we are not folliowing gods word. You are tuly a person with reason and love..i feel the peace in you my brother...but dont try to put too much amount of time trying to convince people who are not ready to receive the message and evolved in advance beings... let each soul walk its path..as for the lady Abigail with all due respect..i will not wish to criticize you and disrespect you..but... just try to be not so close minded..and intolerant with others..the funny thing is that nor all of the other religions who are not bible-based try to dispute and convince others at all cost that the are the ones who are right because they dont follow the "true word of God" and yet if u will see Dalai lama..and listen to his teachings u will find love and peace and tolerance..another way of loving god and ourselvesbut ofcourse you are gonna said to me..dont be misguided dont be mslead..right??however i will tell you mislead in what?..love is not the same here as in other galaxy? peace is not the same as the peace of muslims ...the bibile has great teachings i had read it..but with logic, with feeling with heart and reason...knowing there are more things in the universe and the world that we know and see..i know my comment is not going to change your point of view..not until you are ready to have peace in urself and let others walk its path..and finnaly see urself to be Who you really are and walk in awarness......im just a 20 year old guy..and im truly tell u be close minded doesnt work..im a catholic..but you are going to judge me and tell me that im not a good catholic because of my point of view ..if u could some day have a paranormal experience such as..see a departed one or talk to them in the other realm or have a outbody experience or have a regresion to realize who u were before or to understand and learn many things who still have been not discovered with you yet i' ll tell you I will asure you not i will sign in paper..that you finally will truly understand God, how the universe works, who we really are, the advanced beings we can become and that exists in other dimensions, and the love for others not matter what..peace with u..and hopefuly the knowledge you have in the bible can transform to be the wisdom you need..to be more open and finllay there you will see ..you will understand you will have a grandeur vision of things, of people of yourself ....with love..your soul bother..Ernesto

Ernesto, thanks for the comment. I don't want to get into a debate with you here. I appreciate your passion and convictions. I would challenge your assumption that I'm being narrow minded, though. It would seem to me that you ahve to have a very open mind to believe some of the claims of the Bible. Floods, plagues, miracles, sick people being healed, dead people being resurrected! It would be hard to believe a lot of that if you're not open and receptive to it!

Wow! Poor Hillary. She's only protecting her kid, and that's a noble thing. Good for her. Sad that there are so many NOT in the public eye who have no understanding of what it's like out there. Sure, you have to be tough, but under the circumstances, why can't she protect her child? Actually, I never saw her as NOT being tough. I was telling a friend the other day that I think she's got more testosterone than Bill. ;=) Getting up in front of hundreds, thousands, millions of people is pretty courageous. I've done it on a small scale as a standup comic, teacher, lecturer, and speaker, and it's not easy. So I applaud Hillary for not only trying to protect her daughter but for getting out into the public to do something. It's easy being an armchair quarterback, so I applaud and give kudos and quite a few breaks to anyone who goes public and tries to do what they feel is right for the greater good--to any degree. And I also think that this partisan, Ann Coulter type bashing of liberals has got to stop (I’m am, however, aware that controversy sells books). And I say that as a Republican and son of Democrats. I'd like to see a lot less bashing and a lot more hashing out of difference. It wasn't always like this, and I think it's high time we got back to a more productive bi-partisan approach to politics, as challenging as that may be. After all, there are two parties in Congress, yes? What should we do, ignore one if we are the other? Strange way for a democracy to function. John Adams said that democracy is about consideration (defined here as not just to “think about carefully” but “to be kind”) and compromise, yet few do so. And this was almost 200 years ago! Guess it’s difficult for people to change, yes? As far as manipulation and deception is concerned, Republican politicians . . . hell, any politician isn’t above doing so. And heaven help us if McCain gets in. I think he may be just as scary if not more so than Hillary. The way things are going, I’ll probably vote for Eli Manning, quarterback of the Super Bowl champ New York Giants. At least he knows how to take verbal and physical hits without giving in. Amen.

I wrote an article a whlie back concerning disease in America. My mom just fought an infection she has had since the beginning of Thanksgiving week. At my instance they put her on oral medication, which did not work. They then placed her on 10 days IV, which did not work and then they had her, at my insistance, go into a hospital for 10 days of twice a day IV of a stronger medicine. Now needless to say the Outpatient meedication room was full of people with the same problem. there is evidently no concern or awareness of what is happening in this nation. We have peole coming and going freely without immunizations, rare disease, infections and little to no control. It is a fact that most in the medical profession understand. So just where are all of us Americans on this. I'll tell you - sadly cloud 9. We just do not care to know. Good article, RTM

Yeah, I know, that is extreme, but so was the bus driver's actions.

A very good article but with all respect for you, we differ in opinion concerning "we can't possibly send everyone back". We do not have to. They will will return on their own if they cannot work. The same way they came only much safer. America has already been brainwashed, yes brainwashed into accepting there is no answer, that we can't possibly locate them, that they are "undocumented" and good people, etc. Well lets answer in reverse. They are not good people. Simply, they broke the law. They destroyed someone identity and life! Would you teach that stealing for a need is ok in school? They stole ID, a felony, to work. Would you teach that in school? Can a church condone "Thou shall not steal" in any other way then sin? Undocumented you say? Well go to any Social Agency they receive help from, any hospital, any school they or their children attend, the governement who pays for all this and finally their illegal employer who really wants to exploit them for cheap labor. Have we forgotten the minimum wage just went to $6.79 an hour? Can you live off of that and raise a family and they get paid less in mnay cases or owe the company store for rent, etc. Talk about religion. No we have people who really can't comprehend. So yes, call me a racist but I have put out plans right here on this website to provide a legal and fair way for them to work here. And by the way, where is the real criminal in all this Mexico? Why don't they pick up the cost to the American Taxpayer in every single aspect? You hear no cry from America on that. I hope I did not offend you with a topic dear to us. Our family is waiting 25 years to come here legally. His wife is now dying and frankly he will never come. But really who here gives a damn?

Abigail, Great article! The newspaper had it right. This is a very complex issue that we struggle with. Alot of white business tycoons can't do without the immigrants serving their needs. I know that this is true in Arizona even though we are taking a tough stand on keeping immigrants out of the country. Who's going to do the landscaping, tile work, construction, bussing tables, car washes, etc.? We are a greedy country who wants our labor at minimum rate. Who is going to do that? Enough rambling. Happy New Year!

Bank Looks To Pay It Forward With Holiday Bonus
From Fargo, ND: (149 days 15 hours ago.)
As an employee of this bank - we will be receiving our own bonus to keep and each were given a video camera to keep, besides the $1000 to give away that must be approved through a committee. We are not taxed on the donation money. Last year the owners gave us a regular bonus, plus an additional $1000 for us to keep to use for ourselves. Our owners have a very caring attitude and giving is very important to them and they care about their employees. Making plans to give away this money has been an amazing feeling for the employees -to pinpoint small needs that may often get unnoticed. We have had 100% participation the past few years in our United Way campaign, so our employees are giving of their own money locally too. We also have one-third of the market share in competition with nearly 20 other banks in town. We must be doing something right.

Great article Abigail. I share with you the thought that it is indeed a sad day for baseball. It really bugs me to see anyone on steriods take over a record from someone else as Bonds did to Hank Aaron. I still think Hank Aaron should be, and is in my book, King of the home run bat. I was relieved to see some of my top choice's names were missing from the list. But I was not surprised. Andruw Jones (my favorite), Greg Maddox and really, most of the Braves, past and present.

Does Chuck Norris Have What It Takes To Help Win A Presidency?

I just can't understand why any star would influence anyone in such an important matter? The persons record, his deeds and works and what your beliefs are and how that person best equates to your beliefs should be the deciding factor. As for me Mr. Huckabee, as a minister, does not address stealing, the outright breaking of law and he dismisses it all under the guise of humanity and love of neighbor. I guess that is ok if he considered the impact to all and takes action for the benefit of all and not just those he feels are entitled to aide while ignoring the rest. Well I suppose he would also be the first to say separate the state from religion, so why apply faith thinking in selective instances? He should be doing that for all citizens and I used that word for a reason. Why don't you ask him that question? Secondly he took an oath before God almighty, the God he professes, to preserve, protect and defend the law. Stealing, is an offense against God and society. God did not say you can steal under these conditions. So when we profess who we are and look at people we must first examine our beliefs. Not our feelings and emotions but what is truth, justice and serves all men. It is a shame we don't start with their record and the truth and it a shame we don't address "the rest of the story". No, no star can ever influence a thinking person to vote for someone. they can only present their opinions, as I did for consideration. Your heart and your charater will guide you to who you vote for. Best wishes.

Well Abigail, nothing wrong with being in the minority! Remember: narrow is the gate! I like Huckabee, too, and the commercial w/Chuck Norris was a hoot! I like that Huckabee doesn't take himself too seriously. Nothing worse than a self-important politician! I especially liked his answer during the republican debate on CNN: "Jesus is much too intelligent to want to run for public office." How could that possibly be answered? I love his sense of humor, his value system, and his character! But I have friends who also like him the best, but say they won't vote for him because he couldn't win! huh? No, I don't think celebrities make a difference. I think most of them here in Hollyweird are motivated by career-building agendas. But it's like grade school, you know... picking sides to be on, seeing who's most popular. Just childish games. And about Streisand. She's sort of irrelevant now, so Hillary might not be too happy about her endorsement.

Lipsticks Not Being Recalled Despite Lead Findings
doboxoh from Vietnam: (177 days 23 hours ago.)
the producer didn't intend to exceed the amount of lead in their products. Lead may be found in colorant and may be a by-product of raw materials such as zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, ozokerite (mineral wax or paraffin) and petroleum-based ingredients (petrolatum, mineral oil) that are introduced into the production process. What do producer receive by adding too much lead in their products? Do they continue to add lead, or begin to churn out lead-free lipsticks to make profit? Anyway, they just supply what the consumers demand.

I love gay people (and I'm not gay). Gay people are souls born from God just like all you good Christians. If your religions preach seperatism because of someone's innate sexual preference then I really feel sorry for you. That's not the "perfect love" you mentioned...it's hate and intolerance. It's a good thing my religion doesn't preach that! My religion preaches that ALL have sinned and fallen short of God and His glory. If I were to separate everyone who committed a sin from my religion, it would cease to exist! You are absolutely right, gay people are God's creations, just like "us Christians." And because of that, they have the opportunity to repent of their sins, just like "us Christians." And I will say this as well, even though you didn't ask. God doesn't view their sexual preference as any greater a sin than a little boy stealing a candy bar from the convenience store. Both are equal in His eyes, and should be equal in ours as well.

This article was helpful to me in understanding what the movie is about behind all the spiced up fantasy the director may have replaced the anti-christian views with. I both agree and disagree with letting your children see the movie. If they are young adults and are strong in their faith then maybe it would be a good idea to let them see it and be able to argue their faith even more eloquently after knowing more about the other point of view. However, if your children are young and could be swayed at all, then maybe it is best you do not let them see the movie. This is because children really take to heart messages that they see in movies they may like. If i ever find out what i believe isn't true, i would much rather know that people are raising their kids to believe and work for the good of God and community than to hear that the world was turning bad because of people's lack of effort to do good. If children don't believe there is a reason to do good for others, the world will stop having it's light moments between it's dark ones. We need to keep our children thinking that there is something better, even if there is or not. I believe there is.

I have finally found my way through your article and I must say you have affected me. It wasn't easy as this website clearly does not provide any kind of spelling or grammar checker, however your article is quite interesting. I am not the kind of person that would tell someone else what they can believe and I admire you standing up for your beliefs and boycotting this film. However, to say that a film is "from Satan" is something that I personally believe is taking it a little too far. Still, I give you full credit for the direction you have chosen to take and all the power to you and to those who have commented on this article and have agreed with you. Keep in mind though, that if your children's faith is strong (which I am quite sure that it is), a simple movie or book, no matter how it tries, should not be able to influence them strongly enough to question their faith. P.S. I am not strongly religious myself, yet I am refusing to see this movie anyway...it just doesn't look that good.

Conversations With God Books Mislead Children
Mike from MN: (191 days 13 hours ago.)
He never compares his work to the Bible.. But if you want to go on believing that God would condemn his very children then go right ahead.. And the book doesn't give you the right to do 'anything' you wish.. It states that you must live by what you really are. I choose to be a good person.. that's me.. Also, do you think God stopped talking thru people? Who's to say this book is not inspired in the same way? I know we've been taught that the Bible is everything but just use the mind that God gave you. It is yes inspired by God but you know as well as I do that some chapters were purposly left out. Man is trying to control you by using the word of God and if everyone realized how true and pure the real word was, we'd all be enlightened and then what would happen to all these seperate religions. Like I said, I respect your views but stop saying, this is 100 percent right or 100 percent wrong. Do you really believe being gay is 100 percent wrong? If so you must think it's the work of the Devil. So are you really going to live by the witchhunt mentality? I hope we've evolved beyond this..
