Fresh Impressions

Don't Send a Boring Anniversary Announcement. Try This Instead.

It's Been How Many Years?

How many years have you been married? One? Five? Twenty? Fifty!?!? It doesn't matter. Each anniversary is special and should be celebrated in an equally special fashion. Perhaps one of the best ways to celebrate is to shout to the world that you have been married for X number of years. Share the fact with your friends and family by shouting with an anniversary magnet.

Announce Your Anniversary With Style

A quality magnet with your photo on it will impress people much more than the common old paper anniversary announcement. The paper versions get filed into a pile of papers on the kitchen counter, only to be tossed out in a few days. A magnet is immediately stuck on a refrigerator, filing cabinet at work, a computer case, or dozen of other spots. There they remain and are seen on a daily basis.  People will be reminded for a long time about the years you two have spent together.

Your Source Is Important

If you can find a supplier that uses the latest digital printing techniques, and has employees that can help you design the product, you can create a beautiful, long lasting magnet which could end up being a cherished keepsake. Don't buy from a company that insists that you use one of their template designs, either. You deserve to have an exclusive design. After all, you two didn't spend all those years together just so you could celebrate like everyone else, did you? Be unique. Be creative.

When you send an anniversary magnet to everyone you know, they will be reminded of your life together and how that life has affected them, too. Share your love and joy with your family and friends with this fashionable type of announcement.

A Tip for a Successful Reunion

Posted Tuesday, June 17, 2008 (167 days 16 hours ago.) Viewed 9 times.

You Need Them to Show Up for a Successful Reunion

Reunions. Whether it is a family reunion, a high school or college reunion, or for a military unit or any other type of reunion, one of the most important facets of the organization process is to ensure that everyone who is invited remembers the date. You can spend days and weeks preparing a wonderful occasion, but if half the people fail to show up it can be a big flop.

Conventional Methods are Easy, But Unreliable

The conventional methods of notification are OK, but they are unreliable. Letters get lost in piles of mail on the kitchen counter. Phone calls are quickly forgotten. E-mail messages get erased or filed away on your D drive…never to be seen again. If you want the date to be remembered you need something that will be seen regularly and last a long time.

Easy, and Very Effective!

The ideal solution is a simple refrigerator magnet. They are inexpensive, easy to work with, and readily available. You (or someone on the reunion committee) can quickly stick one in an envelope and mail them to each person on the list. Most people open their mail at home, usually in the kitchen. When they receive their refrigerator magnet that displays the pertinent information about the upcoming event, they can immediately place it on the fridge where they will see it daily. The perfect place for a perfect reminder!

Design It the Way You Want

Imagine an old photo from your class digitally printed on a quality magnetic product. Who wouldn't enjoy seeing that? Or find a wedding picture of the grandparents or great grandparents who are responsible for the entire family that will attend the reunion. Depending on the picture you choose you could have them laughing, or deep in thought when they see it.

Either way, a refrigerator magnet is an outstanding reminder that could end up being a valued keepsake.

A Clever Graduation Announcement Idea

Posted Tuesday, June 17, 2008 (167 days 16 hours ago.) Viewed 41 times.

I'm writing this article in June. Probably a month after everyone has graduated from high school or college. This topic came to mind because there were several important people in my life who graduated this spring. Two were from college and one from high school. My wife and I received the usual graduation announcements in the mail, but one of them added something that was a very clever idea.

A Pleasant Surprise

In the envelope with the announcement was a very nicely done refrigerator magnet. It displayed a photo of the soon-to-be-grad, along with the date and related information. We put in on our refrigerator as a reminder, and it worked! Both of us keep busy and have tight schedules, but being able to see the magnet everyday kept us from forgetting the important date. Eventually my wife made the entry on our organizational calendar that she keeps in her desk drawer. Without the constant reminder afforded by the graduation magnet, we might have overlooked the date and not shown up for the ceremony and party.

It Helps You Avoid "Gift Panic."

Almost daily one of us would say, "What are we going to get for Emily for her graduation?" That kept us from needing to rush out the day before and in a panic, purchase the first thing we saw on the shelf. Our gift to her was well thought out and appropriate. In fact, we bought it weeks ahead of time.

They Are Helpful, and They Last

My family is probably typical of most families, and we definitely appreciated receiving the fine magnet for our fridge. It helped us organize our schedule and avoid the stress of doing things at the last minute. And unlike the paper announcement, it will last for years.

If you have someone that will be graduating soon, think about this idea and find a good supplier. Give them a call.

More About Save the Date Wedding Magnets

Posted Monday, June 16, 2008 (168 days 6 hours ago.) Viewed 52 times.

Wedding magnets are a great way to add some spice to your wedding announcement. Save the Date wedding magnets are generally sent out earlier than the official wedding invitations so your friends and family can begin making their schedules in advance. Why not impress them by doing it with a magnet designed and customized by you? A one of a kind product like that will be more than a simple announcement. It will become a keepsake they will have for years to come.

Make Sure Your Magnet Is Unique

Once you decide to purchase some Save the Date magnets, search out a company that provides the opportunity to completely tailor your magnet to your specific desires. Some companies require that you utilize one of their designs. All they do is change the names and the date and put your picture on it. Then your Save the Date magnet looks just like the last person's magnet with your picture on it. Everything else in your wedding is personalized. Why should you settle for a magnet that looks like someone else's?

On Staff Professionals Are a Must

A good company will have graphic artists on staff to assist you with your design. A graphic artist will have the experience and knowledge to keep you from making a blunder. There are some mistakes that can be made which aren't obvious to those of us without special training. They will steer you away from those pitfalls so you can be assured of a beautiful final product.

Who Will You Speak With? An Answering Service? I Hope Not.

Finally, pick a company that lets you talk to them. Are their phones answered regularly? Are they answered by an answering service or by an actual employee? These are all things you should consider when choosing a company. This is a once in a lifetime experience, so make sure you are dealing with a company that can fulfill you needs.

Your Child's Birthday - Send an Announcement They Won't Forget

Posted Tuesday, June 10, 2008 (174 days 4 hours ago.) Viewed 67 times.

Your child's birthday is a day that friends and relatives love to celebrate. Unfortunately not all of them can be around then. Either they live far away, or they are busy with their own immediate family or work. Regardless, they would still enjoy receiving a picture of your child to commemorate the occasion.

Your Options

I suppose you could crank off a picture on your ink-jet printer and send it to Grandma, but it would last about a week or two before it began to fade and/or get torn up. The next place for that picture would be the trash. If the friend or relative has e-mail you could send a picture to them via the internet, but it would get viewed a few times and be relegated to some obscure file on you D drive, never to be seen again.

The Best Option

Why not sent a birthday announcement that will last and be seen on a regular basis? I'm talking about an inexpensive refrigerator magnet. Have the manufacturer print a photo of your child on it with the date and his name below it. How about a larger magnet with a picture from each previous birthday in order to show how he has grown over the years?

Why Send a Magnetic Birthday Announcement?

Refrigerator magnets last for years, and they find themselves adhering to busy places in the home and office. They get viewed daily, so the recipient can think of the birthday child all the time. They sure beat the dickens out of a plain ol' photograph stuck in an envelope.

Give the important people in your child's life a birthday announcement magnet that they will enjoy for a long time.
