Congratulations to the GradsMichele Rogers (200) ![]() Lilyputts Gift Baskets Baby Shower Decor Games and GiftsPosted Thursday, May 17, 2007 (2 years 190 days ago.) Viewed 830 times. Baby showers can be a lot of fun. Many have games and some have gifts as well. In planning a baby shower you do not have to work hard to make it wonderful for everyone. There are simple steps that you can do to make a baby shower a lot of fun for the new mom to be. First set a comfy chair for the mom to be and put balloons on it, a banner on the back, telling all it is her chair. By decorating the chair you do not have to go overboard on the rest of the place for decorations. You can keep your expenses down. You can take the balloons, maybe some crepe paper and her banner and deck out her chair. Next set up a game, give every one there a pencil and paper. Put about ten to fifteen items on a tray that is related with a new baby nursery. For example, cotton, q tips, manicure set, booties, wipes, tissues, soap, powder, and so on. More items on this tray make for a better game. Cover the tray with a towel. Explain to the players they will get twenty seconds to look and study the items on the tray. After the twenty seconds is up, cover the tray back and then they have two or three minutes to write down what they saw. No peeking allowed! The person with the highest amount correct wins a small gift. The gift for this game can be a small spa gift, simple and inexpensive. Be it a small reminder of a fun time. Another game that is fun is everyone must guess your birth weight when you were born. This game can be fun. Many times when this is played no one can guess the correct weight. Have the new mom write her birth weight on a paper largely, then fold it in four and hold on to it. Then give the players several minutes to give it thought and then they must guess. You can keep track of what the players guess. The one closest wins. Again, the gift can be a small memento. These two games mentioned can be a lot of fun, for either a small or large crowd. All that participate are sure to enjoy their time with the new mom! Author is Michele Rogers, owner of http://www.lilyputts.com Lilyputts Gift Baskets , an online gift basket retailer. When kids go to summer camp some feel as if they are being shipped off to get out of mom and dads hair, but that’s not the case in many instances. Usually both parents work and it’s the most feasible way to care for them. This year why not do something different for the child that has gone to summer camp, why not send them a care package after they have been at camp for a week. Most kids are very jealous of their friends getting mail and packages. Lets face it everyone enjoys getting mail. The care package does not have to be one that you put together. With your hectic schedule an already made one is best chosen. With retailers of today of care packages and gift baskets there are many to choose from. You may want a simple care package, for example: animal cookies, single serve Oreo cookies, Single serve chocolate chips, sweet tarts, skittles, pretzels, starburst, peppermint patty, granola bars and some M & Ms to top it all off. Snack care packages as this are easily order through a retailer and you can designate the ship to address in the order. Most also allow for a message, such as love mom and dad. So this summer when you send the kids off to camp and they whine about coming home, send them a great care package. It will show them they are missed and most of all loved. Maybe just maybe they will look forward to going to summer camp next year! Author is Michele Rogers, owner of http://www.lilyputts.com Lilyputts Gift Baskets , an online gift basket retailer. A summer birthday party at a park is the greatest way to celebrate a young child’s birthday. No mess at home, and your special glass statues are intact at the end of the day! Parties at the park during summer months are fun. Everyone can soak up the pleasure of the surroundings and everyone invited can enjoy the beautiful day. Some summer parties are birthdays, to company picnics. Keeping these simple is easy with few decorations and a few planned games. For decorations you can have balloons. Balloons are inexpensive and usually you can buy a package with maybe about twenty to fifty in the pack. Blow them up and group them in three, tie with a string and you have a balloon cluster. You can attach these to the tables or a nearby tree. If you don’t want balloons crepe paper is also a great item to use. Purchase several different colors put them together and twirl them and hand them around table or tree. Games are fun too. Having a plan as to which ones are smart to have. One game from yesteryear is red light/green light. Have the kids and/or adults line up in a line about fifteen yards out and have a person that will be the light. They players in the line must take one step at a time…no running. The light will either say green light or red. If you move on a red light then you are out. The person/person who ends up close will get a small token/gift. Another game to play is Simon says. Having a player that is Simon, he will tell the players what to do. Some examples are, Simon says hop in place, Simon says stop, then you can say jump, if anyone jumps when you just jump they are out. These games are free to play. No one will get hurt playing these. They are simple and even the youngest of players can understand how to play. These are just simple games and decorations. When you are on a budget and at a loss as to what games and décor to have then this simple suggestion will come in handy. An Easter Basket is a fun item to give away. Not only is the basket fun, but the egg hunts and family gatherings are just as fun. One does not have to give a traditional basket away. They do not have to be filled with a lot of candy. They can be a spa basket, a perfect gift for a young woman. Many people do not give baskets to friend and family members if they are older. Some would ask, why not? It’s mainly due to the fact of how society was raised. Not too many adults go on Easter egg hunts. Breaking away for the straight and narrow is made easier with gift baskets that are catered mainly for adults. From spa gift baskets, to ones for men with golfing items in them, there are many to choose from. There are also many Easter baskets that are themed for Easter, with a cute plush bunny in them. You would not give such an item to a small child but you would give an item such as this to a college student. Many young adults appreciate when they are away at college, receiving a gift such as this. Also, in this day and age, every young student for spring break goes off with other friends and most do not end up home. So an item such as an Easter gift basket should be sent just before they have their spring break. Sending an Easter gift basket to a student will surely delight them. They will realize they are missed. It’s also a way of not letting they grow up too fast. For some parents it is always hard to see a child go off to college and be away for some time.
