This is why Italian decorating styles are being increasingly recreated in other countries, and go towards creating a wonderfully clean, stylish room. The main colours that you will want to use include cream, white and red, although you might prefer them looking marbleised, or like leather; the faux style. If you want a more textured Italian look, then plastic and stucco go brilliantly. On the ceiling, you will be fine having a plain white ceiling, and this is often better in a small room, but in a less cluttered room, a mural on the ceiling will look much better. With the floor, carpet is not the thing, for an authentic look you could go for a lavish mosaic, although simple marble often looks better. Sometimes you can even get away with having a wooden floor covered by a rug. When it comes to furniture, antique furnishings and reproductions look brilliant in Italian rooms, but make sure you get the right sort. The ones that look best are those with curvy and gilt patterns. You may like to also buy silk curtains for the windows, and also some vibrant pillows for the sofa. Italian rooms beg for accessories, so try getting some miniature pillars, and definitely a statue or two. To complete the decorative look, also try out a mirror, maybe a chandelier, and an Italian painting. Whatever you decide to buy, imagine it being in your room before you purchase and make sure that it fits in with the Italian theme - if you're not sure then don't buy, as it will probably look out of place. Once you have fully accessorised, you will have the heart of Europe in your own house, and will no longer need to travel to experience the romantic style of Italy. Viewed 69 times. As you bounce up in the air for the hundredth time, you may be wondering how your trampoline works. There are two things that work together to make you bounce. The trampoline springs and mat combine to create the proper tension to enable you to bounce when you jump. However, exactly how high you bounce depends directly on exactly how strong the springs around your trampoline's edges are. All trampoline springs should pass the American Society for Testing and Material standards before they are used on a trampoline. These springs are made with a high quality piece of wire that has been made stronger through a process called galvanization. The galvanized wire is coiled and then is cut to the proper length to form springs. With each bounce someone takes on the trampoline, stress is placed on the springs. This is why using the strongest wire available is a good idea. Even with high quality wire, the springs will weaken and stretch over time. You should take a look at your trampoline every month to be sure the springs look sturdy and are not rusty. To help keep the springs working well longer, cover the entire trampoline with a tarp when it is not in use and consider spraying the metal with WD40 or a similar anti-rust product. The reason keeping your trampoline springs in good working order is so important is that they could snap at a weakened or rusted point as someone is bouncing away on the trampoline. While you may want to go right to your trampoline's manufacturer when you replace springs, you can also go to an online store that sells replacement parts. Two well known spring brands are Ultra Bounce and DDI Sports. Of course, when you buy your replacement springs, you want to be sure you get ones that actually fit your trampoline. To find out which size you should shop for, remove a spring from the trampoline and measure it from one hook to the other. You should take your measurement in inches, since that is how these replacement parts are sold. You may actually want to measure two or three springs in case one of them is really stretched out to be sure you have the right measurement. Once you have your measurements, you can shop for replacement springs. There are many great replacements parts suppliers operating online and you can find more information on them by following the resources section at the end of this article. Trampoline are tons of fun and safe for all the family to use - as long as the springs are not in need of replacement? http://www.TotalTrampoline.com Permalink Comments (0) The Iomega Zip Drive: A Quick HistoryPosted Sunday, April 15, 2007 (2 years 225 days ago.) Viewed 78 times. For many years the floppy disk dominated the data backup market for the home user as they offered affordable data storage. Ok using floppies was akward, slow and highly unreliable but at the time it was all we had. Then along came the Zip drive and the world of data backup changed overnight thanks to the creator of the Zip drive - Iomega. No longer were you restricted to a paltry 1.4MB of disk storage - now you could fit 100MB on one single Zip disk. Later this increased to, a then, massive 750MB of storage space which was completely unheard of at the time. Zip drives worked in almost exactly the same way as a floppy disk except they were physically bigger and provided a much higher data transfer rate than home users had ever seen before in an "external" data storage device. The biggest problem with Zip drives is that although they were similar to floppy disks you still needed a separate Zip drive to read or write to these disks which in turn meant more expense for home users. Also there was a rival technology called the LS-120 or SuperDisk that found favour with many computer manufacturers (ironically enough the Zip drive long outlived the LS-120 in terms of popularity and usefulness) so the Zip drive faced an uphill struggle from it's introduction to an eager computer market. The Zip drive was/is available in a few different flavors. There were parallel, SCSI, USB and IDE Zip drives available on the market at one stage. This meant that regardles of what type of computer you had you'd be able to find a Zip drive with a compatible interface. This meant that both Mac and PC users tended to love the Zip drive although most Mac users tended to favor the Zips bigger SCSI brother - the Jaz drive... that however is the topic for another article for another day. Alas for all their ingenuity the Zip drive has become all but obsolete. The current growth in hard drive storage capacities has meant that any storage device offering less than 10GB - 20GB of storage space is all but ignored as a useful backup device. Any computer user reading this who has ever owned a Zip drive will probably feel the same sense of nostalgia I felt when writing it. The Zip drive was incredibly revolutionary in it's day and paved the way for a real boom in data backup technology for homes and small businesses. RIP Zip drive.... you shall be missed. Permalink Comments (0) Looking For The Best USB Flash Drive?Posted Sunday, April 15, 2007 (2 years 225 days ago.) Viewed 124 times. If you're not already the proud and happy owner of a USB flash memory drive then it's about time you got one! These little devices are incredibly useful, portable and very easy-to-use. Whether you need to transfer files between computers or you're just looking for a small and highly portable backup device these little gadgets are perfect! These small drives go by several different names including USB sticks, USB drive, USB flash drive, flash stick, thumb drive and jump drive. Most of these names are not very accurate, however, chances are good that if you hear somebody talking about any one of these things, they're talking about the same type of USB flash memory drive that we've all come to know and love - at least if you already own one you'll feel this way. How big are they? The reason they are also called thumb drives is that most of them are about the size of your thumb, if not smaller. As a result, you can fit these in your laptop case, in a pocket, or even put them on a lanyard around your neck - no more lugging around dozens of CDs or DVDs on a business trip or to college for example. How much data can they store? This depends on the USB flash drive that you choose. Up until a few months ago, the largest size was a 2GB drive and that seemed massive at the time. However, several brands now also offer a 4GB option now, and 8GB flash drives are just starting to appear on the market. There are also a few very small portable external hard drives that use flash memory as well so these are another potential option for the prospective flash drive owner. How much do they cost? Depending on the size of the USB flash drive that you buy and whether or not they are on sale, they can be anywhere from $10 to $120. You can usually find a good deal on 1GB flash drives in most online stores. USB flash memory is not the best option if you are looking for a long term backup of a large amount files due to the basic size constraints i.e. backing up a 300GB hard drive to a set of USB flash drives would be insanely expensive. However, if you are looking to transfer files from one computer to another or just need a copy of important work or personal data that doesn't stretch into hundreds of gigabytes then a USB flash drive is readymade for this kind of work. Another great thing about these drives is that because they're USB based they work on both Macs and PCs without any problems. Do yourself a massive favor and invest in a USB flash drive today - you'll never regret your decision. Do you need to know what the best USB flash drive on the market is? Viewed 634 times. No matter how well you care for your trampoline or how good the warranty is, you will need to be ready to do some repairs and adjustments or replace the occassional part. After all, making sure your trampoline stays in good repair keeps all the bouncers in your family happy and safe. Trampoline repair is never a case of "if" but only "when". If you notice that something looks a bit worn or no longer works properly, your first step should be to take a look at your trampoline's user manual. The manual should provide easy to understand instructions on caring for your specific model. If a consultation of the manual doesn't provide the answers you need, you should contact the manufacturer. You may want to try visiting the company website first to see if there is any information that can help you there, but, if not, you should contact the customer service department to ask for help on replacing a part or to discover how you can get replacement parts. It is best to check with customer service before you start shopping for parts because they just may be covered by warranty, which could mean the manufacturer would replace them for free. Of course, if the company you bought your trampoline from is no longer in business or doesn't carry a specific replacement part, getting your trampoline repaired can be a bit more challenging. Luckily, some trampoline companies sell generic parts that can be used to repair other companies' models. These companies often have an added bonus - their replacement parts may be cheaper than those being sold by a well known company. One company that offers quite a few replacement parts for trampolines is Super Fun Trampolines. With over 25 years in the business, this company is no newcomer to the field. You can buy replacement parts factory direct, which cuts out the middle man and gives you a better price. In addition to selling parts for repairing your trampoline, Super Fun Trampolines repairs mats. If your mat has holes or the stitching on the edges is coming loose, you can ship it to them. Within three to four weeks, your mat will be repaired and you will be back to bouncing away. If you are looking for the lowest price on replacement parts for your trampoline, you may want to check out Fun Spot Trampolines. This company has been in the trampoline business for more than 33 years and guarantees that their trampoline part prices are the lowest around. The company also says it weaves its own mat fabric and webbing and that it is the only trampoline manufacturer to do so. If you need a mat rebuilt, re-sown, or patched, Fun Spot Trampoline offers a repair service with very competitive pricing. If what you need is your trampoline's manual, Trampoline Sales has the solution. This company sells ebooks of replacement manuals for a few different brands of trampolines. If you aren't sure which replacement parts you need or how to replace parts and you've lost your manual, these replacement manuals can be very handy. If you are only looking for replacement parts, the company can help out with that, as well. Trampoline Sales stocks a range of replacement parts, such as springs, mats, covers and patch kits. The company has a 100% money-back customer satisfaction guarantee and has warranties on the different parts. Trampoline are tons of fun and safe for all the family to use - as long as they're not in need of repair? http://www.TotalTrampoline.com Permalink Comments (0) |
