For e.g. a child pulling at its mother's shirt needing attention. Can we describe it in one word?

Hmm.. I want the word for the gesture, not what's in the mind of the person pulling at it. :-) Is there a word?

No..no..! Not help, not attention. For e.g. if a child comes and pulls your shirt twice to get your attention, would you describe this gesture in one word? Something like how you nudge somebody, lynch on someone etc. :-)
