A lady has a toy poodle that I thought was a toy teddy bear but it is real. She brings it to her shop everyday so she can look after it but that little thing only plays around. hmmmmm !

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Beagles. But really, I think a good mutt is best. The best dog we ever had when I was a kid was a Beagle/Malamute mix. He was really funny looking but super smart, kind and a good friend.

I have a friend who has two German Shepherds, one Doberman and a wolf/Husky hybrid. The wolf/husky hybrid is the sweetest of them and the smartest ... although, one of the German Shepherds is a close second.

I guess really, I like just about all kinds of dogs, but for myself, if I were going to adopt one, it would be small ... not more than 40 pounds. Other than that, I'm not too fussy. I figure one day a dog will find me, but for right now we just have one 25 pound cat.

Dianne, all the dogs you mentioned above are pretty cute and lovable but I find Wolf Husky a bit wild and I actually saw a few at the Dogs Exhibition. Due to the weather here I wonder how the owners take care of them.

If you really want to keep one , do not wait for it to come because that may not be your dream dog.

We had a Catahoula which not many people have heard of that we all adored. They are Louisiana Cattle dogs, very intelligent, social, and protective. Ours died last summer from complications of diabetes and we can't imagine getting any other breed at this point.

Wow! That's quite a special breed of dog I saw and lovable indeed. Sorry it's gone. May be after some time you will adopt one again.

Some teenagers I saw carrying a bag sleep in a puppy and on and off zip down to let the poor puppy breathe some air and zip up again. I think this is not too sensible but guess they have no choice............

Was that Barkly, Jean? I saw a pic of him, he looked like such a lovely dog. Sorry you lost him.

Barkly was a Catahoula, also known as a Louisiana Leopard Dog.

We have a Brittany Spaniel and she is the sweetest most loving pet anyone could ever have. Not to say she didn't drive us crazy at times expecially when she was a pup, but it was all worth it.

Brittany Spaniel is surely loving and "tame" by the look. Now, I begin to wonder how many different breeds of dogs we could have in the wilderness ? Probably over a thousand. (Grin)

A tri-colored, long tailed Brittany Spaniel (the European breed), or a white and orange (or liver) docked tail American Brittany? I have the latter.

Hey Jack! I have a White and orange (liver) Brittany only her tail wasn't docked. She is so loving and sweet. She's fourteen years old now but had a ton of energy up until a couple of years ago. You can see a photo of her with my story called Marley and Me and Casey.

I would recommend this breed to anyone for a pet. Do you agree?

Miniature Schnauzer. Sturdy, protective, doesn't shed and small enough to keep inside.
