We have just one cat, but we call her many different things. Her full "legal" name is Winnie Brave-Paw Cat. But we call her Bug, Wee One, Little One, Winnifer and Sweetie.

I didn't scroll down far enough to see this at first. When I got there, I laughed. Perfect timing! Ya shoulda been a comedian. :)

We used to have several cats, however, since we have moved from the country to a condo there aren't any pets. Our old pets were Bambino, Simi J, and Wassy.

Later a new cat came, and stayed for a long time. One day my husband said he reminded him of a former co-worker. That is how a stray cat got the name of Sam Coleman.

When my sister and I were still living at home, we had a cat that got out and got pregnant. It was her first litter and, thankfully, she only had two ... a boy and a girl. The girl had the most amazing purplish blue eyes and so we named her Elizabeth. The boy reminded us of the Banjo Player in "Deliverance" and so we named him BP. We didn't have them long enough to give them "pet" names. Mom wouldn't let us keep them. :(

Nudnick, my monster cat, is also affectionately called, "My rescue kitten", "You Bighead", "BUBBIE Baby" and "Gonzo".

Squeaky, my other cat, is called ,"Old Grandma","Princess", and "Messy Tessy".

Messy Tessy is really cute. When Winnie was younger, she would eat her food by scooping it up in her left paw and then licking it clean. Sometimes she would shake her paw to rid it of parts she didn't like. I made a mess all over the kitchen.

I think that the "pet" names you give your pets really tells you more about the animal and your relationship with it, don't you. Yours tell me that you love them very much.

Brownie Brown, Dong-Duck, Koppy and last one : Granny (she starts walking a bit slow lately)

"Bad dog" and "mad dog" is called at times of naughty.

These are names that you call your grandmother?!

» Comment from Hilda Cang Comment made 1 year 241 days ago.
Honestly speaking, Paul, due to the dog's recent behavior (she is in her menopause period) we noticed it and so she got that name. She is quite old now.

I think we all call our pets "bad" at some time or another. :) Winnie's brother, while he was still living (he died of acute kidney failure) would sometimes be called Butthead. His real name was Bear Shy-Tail Cat. He got the "bear" for the way he would swagger around the house. He walked like a bear.

You might guess that my pets have pet names.

Patrick is "Big Guy", "Handsome" and "Favorite Horsy" among other names.

Sebastian is "Sebbie", "Cutie", "Little One" and "Bad Boy"

Cooper is "Best Little Horsy", "Little Man", "Wanna Be"

Altogether my horses are "Little Mensies"

Lily is Lily Pot, Sweetie, Little One, Cutie Petooti, Little Girl, Pretty Girl, Mommy's Girl

Winston is Winnie, Little Poo Boy, Cutie Pie, Winnie Ninnie

My flock is Girls, Chickadees

All the animals that I visit weekly, including the horses, have pet names. Some from me but mostly from their "owners." I put that in quotes because I don't really feel we own them. We keep them safe (as much as we can), we manage them, we feed them, we love them, but I don't think we can really own them.

Anyway, just by sheer number of names, it looks like Lily might be your favorite among the Chickadees. :) So which one is it that hangs out with Patrick?

Some of our kitties have one or two names - then there is DT Willer, Hooney, Hoon-hoon, Hooney-boonie, DT NO!, Darnd Tabby, Orange Boy, Moosey Cat - if I could attach a photo here I would and the list goes on, and on, and on.... no he isn't the oldest either.

That's a whole bunch of names for sure! I think the more time we spend with them, the better we get to know them and the pile of names just comes about as a natural course of events. :)

It's fun to hear what all people call their little friends!
