Sex is not the answer; sex is the question; the answer is, "Yes!!"
Answers to this question:My mom was an RN and taught us a little at an early age and more at other ages all with proper anatomical names etc. She did well, actually way before the film in 6th grade....
The woodsie goes into the gavanda and it moves around and twinkle juice comes out and causes a baby, nine months later.
That's what my non nurse mom taught me.
Who's luckier, you or I?
When I started asking questions (somewhere around age 9 or 10), my parents bought me a book ... with illustrations of all sorts of things! But not the act itself, thank goodness! That might have scared the you know what out of me. :) I never did hear anything about it directly from them and the book was somewhat vague about certain aspects, but it gave me enough to go on.
True story.
We decided, perhaps wrongly, to inform our four year old son, early, graphically, the truths about the penis-vagina experience.
Two weeks later, during a crowded cocktail party in our house, he walks into the living room and announces:
"I am NOT afraid! When I get married, I'm going to do it! I'm going to put my penis in my wife's vagina!"
The party wasn't quite the same after that strident professed courage.
Paul, that is absolutely hilarious ... but maybe not at the time it happened. Thanks. I needed a good chuckle.
As you said it, after the question comes the answer, like breathing.
I read a lot of books...
With illustrations?
Of course!

I whispered it to my sister who turned to my mother and said, "Yup, she knows." I think then my mother gave me a book at some point. The nuns weren't big on talking about that stuff back then. :)
And look how far you've come, from a shy but informed lass, to an inspirational hometown Lady Godiva, for years, in local parades, in Canada, on Halloween....
