Because our natural rhythms are all messed up, thanks to artificial lighting and working a fixed day rather than the natural "sunrise - sunset" pattern.

Plus we often wake up due to our alarm clock, which may mean we awake from deep sleep rather than emerging gently from light sleep - our alarm clocks don't detect what part of the sleep cycle we're in, they just wake us up cruelly regardless, but at least they help us get to work on time!

My husband would say "Not enough sex". But then again that's his answer to everything. :)

because when we sleep our physical body goes to sleep but our spiritual and mental body is still active. So when we get up in the morning the mental part of our body is tired and hence makes us feel tired!

I'm thinking that if someone wakes up still tired, then they did not actually have a good night's sleep. Sometimes it's as Ben said, other times it may have to do with using the wrong sort of pillow or mattress ... wrong for you that is. Or maybe the temperature of the room is wrong. Or you drank too much liquid before lying down to sleep. There are a lot of possible reasons.
