Should there be a limit to the number of questions you can ask per day?

Yes, I think so, if only to prevent spamming questions for points!

I think maybe 5 a day? Or 10 while it's still shiny and new :)

Once a persons 1,000 points is used up, they can't ask any more questions until they've earned some more points. If you sat down and planned it out, you could double your points every day, but if you do that, you probably deserve to win the $100!

How many points does it cost to ask a question? I thought it didn't cost any if you set the "reward" to zero

It costs you 10 points with a zero set reward or this is what I thought.

I don't think there should be a limit. It wouldn't be a good business decision. I'll repeat myself. I'm not trying to win points or a contest. I am merely having fun.

If I am asking too many questions, I will self-impose a limit of 5 per day. That is okay with me. And Ben, I'm not suggesting that's where you're going with this question.

If my zeal for this turns others away/off, I won't stay away but I won't be such a "curious imp." Impose a limit on me. LOL I'll create an alias!

*just kidding* I think.

I'm not asking for self-imposed limitations, and I'm not accusing anyone of spamming so far, I was just concerned the system could be potentially open to abuse.

A lot of forums I'm on have restrictions like a 2 minute enforced gap between making one post and making another, to prevent spamming and people just trying to boost their post counts (e.g. to get ranks).

I've no idea about the business side of things though!

I definitely don't want to see limits of particular people (self imposed or otherwise) - has to apply to everyone or no-one! :)

I didn't think you were accusing anyone and certainly not me. I felt the need to say that because I've wondered about it myself. This was the perfect week for me with this as things will change.

There is no "fool-proof" system. The fools will do what fools do! I like that members want to protect the good thing we have, SearchWarp, and not see it destroyed like so many other good things we've no doubt witnessed.

It's new. They're working on the kinks...rules. Bruce said he's received 2 warnings and must do something. I think we'll see more decisions after the contest.

Yes, I don't like the thought that some people could post 30 questions to claim 3000 points

Yeah, getting (lots of) points for picking an answer to your own question seems a bit odd to me!
