Which makes the best pet, cats or dogs and why?
Answers to this question:Dogs. They love you without question and can guard your house.
A cat will love you, but only as long as you feed it and pet it, but I don't think it would care if a burglar comes in.
True, the cat 'd probably open the door for him if he could.
My cat used to bring in mice (still living) then sit & watch them as they run about with ME chasing after them.

I'd always been a "dog person" until my cat (Chella) arrived on the scene. She was a rescue...and my dog at the time happened to LOVE cats. (go figure) They were inseparable from the start. Here's the thing: I think cats get a pretty bad rap. This cat...she has no idea she's a cat. She growls when someone pulls into the driveway, walks right beside me whenever I go for walks (a very strange thing indeed) and is as responsive to my requests as my dog is. (comes when I call her, does the 'fetch' thing, etc.) Since having Chella in my tribe, my feelings about cats have changed dramatically.
So..answer to question:
They BOTH rock!
