Your larynx is your voice box and it is located in your esophagus about half way down.

he larynx is found in the anterior neck. Sound is generated in the larynx, and that is where pitch and volume are manipulated. The strength of expiration from the lungs also contributes to loudness.

The larynx is not in the esophagus; it is just above the entrance to it; Emma's answer is more accurate.
