Well Lorrie, there used to be a time when I was only interested in getting the candy ... now, I have to be prepared to give the candy. I miss the days of being E.T.; Strawberry Shortcake ...

I do not celebrate. This is an American tradition and there is no meaning to celebrate it abroad.

It isn't an American tradition, although it is certainly very popular in America. It comes from Celtic roots in Scotland and Ireland, and spread to the rest of Britain and to France. It didn't arrive in the US until 1846.

My parents were married on Halloween, so even though they're both gone, it's still a day to celebrate my wonderful life...scary though it may be sometimes.

No. As a Christian I feel uncomfortable associating with it. It's out of my comfort zone.

I sort of do... I often watch a "scary" movie, have a carved pumpkin and stock up with sweets to give the trick-or-treaters. Its a bit of fun.

Not sure how safe trick-or-treating is for unsupervised kids these days though... best have an adult go around with them I reckon!
