Have you ever been mad at God?

I personally think it is only human sometimes to be mad at God, even though you love him and he loves you. What do you think?

How can anyone be mad at that which does not exist? What a foolish waste of energy!

Of course. How can you not be mad at something or someone you have a relationship with at least sometimes? But that's ok, God can take it.

I can see how Vietnam would cause anger...what a waste. I am glad you have peace now. Yes, I agree he does exist.

Yes, when I used to believe in God as Catholic. But now, since I am not a Christian any longer, I seldom get angry. Funny how that worked out.

When I was younger I got angry with God, because I didn't understand God.

Now, I don't get angry with God because we have come to an understanding with each other.

I got angry with God because ignorant people taught me a false god; an angry and jealous god. They couldn't help it, they didn't know any better.

When I came to the realization that God is not the god of punishment, then it occurred to me that there must be a higher, more loving God than the god of petty concerns the minister kept droning on about in church.

Every day, whether it is cold, or whether I have a cold, or whether I have not a dollar for a coke, or whether there is food in my cupboard, or whether rude people honk and holler and are cold, I know that is not God's doing.

The deal is this: God meets me half way. Try it some time, you'll see it works.

When I was growing up, the minister did portray God in such a negative way. Now, I know better. I just think it must make God kind of sad when he looks down and sees what is happening. Yes, I know God does meet us halfway.

Although I was raised in a strict religious faith when I was a teenager I turned away from God. I was more mad at the world than God I suppose. I didn't believe God would allow all the corruption in the world.

But now I've come to understand God more and I've found peace within.
Comment from Fran Larson (20,012) 22 days 15 hours ago.
I bet your faith is even stronger, now than when you were a teen. Thanks for your input, David.

No. To me God gives us all choices in life. If something terrible or bad happens to us I believe it is for a reason and we shouldn't be mad at god

Maybe I am weird (because most of my believing friends have been mad at Him) but I figure during those very frustrating times that He knows what He is doing even if I don't have a clue and that I need to regroup somewhere. When things happen to innocents I focus my anger on the enemy who comes to kill, steal, lie and destroy. Books could and have been written on this so we can't get into it all here but be encouraged - almost everyone I know had times of being mad at God and, like Katherine says, He can take it and he understands us more than we realize. Marijo, I think you truly understand what I was trying to say. In my opinion, if you don't get mad at God sometimes, maybe you don/'t have a relationship.
Answer from Robert Ogden (231) 22 days 2 hours ago. More questions answered by this person)
Probably when I was younger. Not any more.

Ron is correct; there is a reason for everything that happens (Ro. 8:28) to those who love God. So, why get mad at God who has a perfect will for our lives? (Ro. 12: 2)

Additionally, no temptation is too great for us to handle with His help. (I Cor. 10:13) So, I have no excuse for getting mad at anyone...though I have...and certainly none for getting mad at God.

Yes. Actually I was once mad at God. My dad had been sick with cancer for some time and I prayed every day to God to cure him and let him live. He died anyway (when I was sixteen) and I was very angry about it in general and also angry at God. It was the beginning of a new relationship for me with religion and faith. I don't really know whether or not God really exists, but I figure it doesn't really matter to me in my day-to-day living. I try to be good and take care of myself and those I love and not worry one way or another.

It's hard being mad at God, when God is still loving you, regardless!
