Aside from the eternal, I can't imagine anything we do having more impact 100 years from now than how we raise our children.

If I were to plant 1000 trees today, 100 years from now, flooding or flash flood, mudslide will be prevented. Trees will prevent erosion of soil and there will be an ample supply of oxygen. There will be a habitat for birds and other animals.

Yes, Bruce hit it right on the nose. The children are what matters 100 years from now. What kind of world we leave them will determine our future. Raising children with moral and ethical standards and also showing them how to care will bring about a better world.

What really matters 100 years from now is what we do for the Lord with the short time we have left to serve Him in our families, work, and our daily testimony.
Comment from David Tanguay (9,588) 15 days 13 hours ago.
I disagree Robert, I believe I am serving the Lord I believe we as a people have only just begun to live as God intended us to live.

And if I'm wrong and you are right that the world is coming to an end I will still do my best to work for a better tomorrow. I don't just think of my own personal well being.

One hundred years from now we will be dead. All the money, fame or fortune, career, and whatever else this world can offer will be meaningless. What will matter is did we use our life for God and did we please him? If so, he promises us a resurrection from the dead after the return of his Son, Jesus Christ. (Read 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5, Verses 13 -17 and Revelation 20:12-14.) At that time we will be grateful that we used our life for God, not for ourself or for some selfish ambition.
