Women, are you most attracted to 'bad boys', 'nice guys' or 'dark and demented' men, and why?

Neither. Well, it depends on what you mean by "nice guys" because if it's a man who is just nice by nature, I like that. But in many cases a "nice guy" means someone who is passive aggressive people pleaser who is really not confident about himself - I don't find that attractive. When I was in my twenties I used to be attracted to "bad boys" and the dark demented men but I grew up.

Now I am attracted to open minded, down to earth, honest and genuine guys.

My husband for sure and not really looking around! He used to be a red head and is now white and cuts his hair so short you'd think his head was shaved... even with his scars from recent melanoma I think it just makes him look more rugged. His heart is for the Lord and that's the most important thing for sure. The fact that I still see him as incredibly attractive at almost 58 is definitely a plus too. I'd attach his photo if I could figure out how.... Marijo

Bad boys add an extra element of excitment, they can be unpredictable and any danger they have about them can also bring excitment and fun into a relationship.

nice guys however can be more reliable and sensible! giving a woman an added comfort in her life.

Dark hair and eyes simply make some woman go weak at the knees.

every woman is different!

some love the idea of a bad boy whereas others would view them as stupid!

the tall dark and handsome man is most certianly what i am attracted to

and i must admitt the bad boy element is also very attractive

however that may be simply due to the fact that i like adventures and unpredictable situaitons!

however i think that as i age i may find the more sensible approach more appealing

but for now young bad boys do it for me!!

O.K. here we go! A little prerequisite background history. I am a married male of 53 years of age and probably the only person to ever work at The Playboy Club in Century City before it closed in the summer of 1986 and then The Playboy Mansion as security in charge of Hugh Hefner's bedroom and then I graduated to being a touring Chippendale dancer who toured the east coast of America and eastern Canada so, I know a little about Bad Boys. I believe this particular answer is very Freudian and simplistic in one. Women who are attracted to the Bad Boy types seem to be driven in that direction through the Oedipus Complex where the women of troubled fathers are sub-consciously attracted to these Bad Boy types. These women are sub-consciously searching for a father figure stronger than the woman's dismantled father merely because of that particular woman's past angst with the father she grew up with. This is genetic! Women will search out the strongest male figure to raise her familyand where did she learn about male strength? Her father taught her. She is attracted to find someone as stong or stronger than her father image. Is this always the case? No but it is true most of the time. A woman's husband is pretty much a reflection of the woman's father. This sub-conscious attraction to a similar destructive father image does decrease over time and with time away from that father image. It will then be then be looked upon as... "That was just the time and way I was when I was young and wild!" This common behavioral dilemma is merely based off behavior reflecting the insensitive nature of many fathers out there in America. Those women who were cared for well when growing up have the behavioral propensity to attract the so-called "nice guys". Women are actually directed sub-consciously by their father images to locate their mates. There will be those women out there who will fight these words tooth and nail and so be it because those women grew up with father images who exhibited the bahavior of... "being right, no matter what!"

You mean NOW? If time could turn back I still have a chance!

'bad boys' may be just the image outlook. If they have a kind heart and human conscience it is harmless. Some think they are 'Cool' got 'Character' or even 'Talented'

'Nice boys' may not be 'Good boys' in some ways, Bruce.

'Dark and demented men' I better stay away.

What is left ? I am more attracted to sensible, responsible and humorous men.

If we're lucky we end up with nice guys. (But we occasionally dream about bad boys.) You asked. :)

because it is the only kind of men out there. all of you fall into one of those categories... or are maybe a mix of each. :-)

Duh, helps if I read the question right.

A nice guy who can be bad at times who is also dark and demented, but just enough to be charming. Could be why it was love at first sight for me and here we are all these years later. Okay, this should be a better answer to your question :-)
