My Space can be a relatively safe place for older teens and young adults to share information about themselves and to meet new people. People can share their views, interests and passions.
Use of MySpace works well for younger people who don’t use e-mail very often but enjoy instant messaging.
MySpace provides young people a site where they can give and receive feedback.
Cons: MySpace can be dangerous because there are sexual predators who use the site to seduce young people.
Many parents are not aware of the dangers of MySpace. There are even parents who do not realize their teens have a profile on MySpace or what information may have been given.
Advertisers use MySpace as a way to make a lot of money. Some of the sites that have advertising are used in conjunction with sexual content. This means the advertisers are making money from ads that promote pornography.
MySpace tries to have controls and it has monitoring procedures in place but many things have slipped through. There are groups that promote homosexual practices as well as groups that show pornographic photos.
MySpace can not control the people who lie about their age or give other false information. It also can’t do anything about teens who are 14 and choose to correspond with people who are 10, 20 or 30 years older.

I think that this website is just another place where they can shoot-down myspace. I mean granet some people use in ways that they shouldn't use it but then there are the people who use it the right way and still get in trouble because of it. I have a myspace profile and I just keep certain personal things off of there. Like the town I live in and other personal things like what my first and last name is and all of the basic steps that you can keep to yourself to avoid getting in trouble with the law or even be stalked or harassed. Well..I knew all of these cons but there are so many more pros then what you put...Myspace also is good for artist who need to launch their music Many people also use myspace to advertise....yes good and bad but still...myspace is more of what you make it - you either use it or abuse it

I don't understand what is wrong with the "homo" groups either. I'm not homosexual, but I do think that its someone's own personal business. There are myspace groups that promote the practice of enjoying sports. would that be a bad thing to? You need to calm yourself down with the judgmental marks. Respond to this comment

i think that myspace is the greatest thing ever. it is so addicting. it is a WONDERFUL place to meet new people and keep up with friends. there are some dangers but w.e set your profile to private. then only the people you know and added can see your profile as simple as that Respond to this comment

i dont understand how myspace is different from anything else. There are teens who watch porn on television without the approval of a parent does that mean tv should be banned from all teenagers lives? NO! If your child hasnt given you a reason not to trust them then let them have a dern myspace! make them set it to private and ask to see there profile/ friends list and everything. Well, personally i realllly want a myspace, my parents have always been against them but i think they are awesome. So my dad said that i might be able to make one if i give him my passwors. So, there is a safe way to have one. i know, i would rather not have him do that, but at least i get one right?? You make it sound like myspace is only a bad thing, put more pros on, i mean its not ALL horrible. just my opinion.
