I do not know if one can turn back the age clock. But I do know that a healthy body and skin will show wrinkles, skin and body imperfections a lot less. Diet is an important part of anti aging therapy and healthy skin. Eating enough foods and vegetables and taking supplements to get antioxidants, minerals, essential fatty acids and vitamins is only one part of the equation for an anti aging diet. Assimilating the nutrients so they benefit the body is the other part.When your liver, kidneys and digestive system are overworked, they do not extract and process nutrients properly. This is when cleansing and fasting will help all of your digestive organs regenerate and work again to peak performance.

Why cleansing the body

Ancient societies knew the importance of fasting and cleansing. It is a part of most traditional cultures to have fasting and cleansing with the seasons. Giving a rest to the digestive system and removing toxins form the body is the key to get optimum health and healthy beautiful skin. Ancient societies did not have to deal with so much internal and external pollution yet cleansing rituals where part of life already.

The pollution around us combine with the toxins, growth hormones and man made chemicals in our food are a lethal recipe for our health and the source of many diseases.

Cleansing brings your body to an alkaline state where no diseases can develop or grow and reset the body to a more balance state. There are many cleanse available for liver, kidney or colon. We should cleanse our body regularly with every season and fast at least once a year.

When done right at the appropriate time, after a cleanse, you will find yourself more energetic, your sense of taste more intense, you will need to eat less because you will benefit from more nutrients from the food you eat .

Keep in mind that sometimes it might get worse before it gets better. For example if your conditions are serious, after a liver cleanse you might experience cirrhosis of the skin or develop eczema. You should not start a cleansing program without the help and support from a health practitioner especially if you have never done a cleanse before. They have been trained to assess your state of health and get you on the right path. Everyone is unique and what is good for one person might be a mistake for another one.

Good quality natural foods eaten in season will provide you with all the antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and essential fatty acids that you need to stay younger and healthier.

How to choose your foods for healthy skin and ultimate health

1 Eat in season. This is when the nutrients are at there peak

2 Choose whole foods with the least processing

3 Learn to read labels

4 Preferably eat organic foods

5 Make your own meals

6 Drink pure or at least filtered water (make sure your water does not contain chlorine

Does all of this mean that you will never eat that cheesecake or apple pie or ice cream, have a delightful coffee or a piece of chocolate? No way! Those are part of the pleasure of life and are important to our well being as well. Once you start on the path of healthy eating habits, indulge yourself once in while with pleasure and no guilt. You have built such a strong foundation that a few escapades will go unnoticed by your body. The key is balance and healthy eating for beautiful skin and optimum health has to be please your palate, body and skin.
