The fashion runways of New York City will be the site of a spectacular presentation of the latest evening and bridal creations by renowned designer Galit Galak this Fall. Part of Couture Fashion Week® produced by USA International Fashion Shows®, the fashion show will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2005 at West Side Loft, 336 West 37th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues).
A native of Ukraine, Galit has become known for her signature opulent evening and bridal gowns rendered in silks, satins and lace. Her desire to create stunning fashions came to her early on and as a girl she made her own doll clothes. She went on to develop her skills and knowledge of the fashion industry first in Europe, then in Israel, and finally in the United States where she launched Galit Couture. Her bridal shop is located in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn where her designs are a favorite with the many Russian-speaking brides and bridesmaids that live in the area.
Galit recently showed her designs to an appreciative crowd at the first annual fashion gala held by the Israel Humanitarian Foundation in New York City which featured Israeli and Jewish fashion designers to benefit Israel’s poverty-stricken children and elderly. In addition to Galit Couture, participating designers included Isaac Mizrahi, Galit Couture, Stephen Dweck and Kaufman Franco. Galit's designs have appeared in Contemporary Bride magazine and she was the focus of a recent article in The New York Times. In June 2005, she presented a preview of her Fall collection at USA International Fashion Shows' Champagne Fashion Brunch® to a delighted audience.
"I enjoy working with my clients, and want to make them as happy and comfortable as possible," says the designer. With her broad knowledge base and natural talent, Galit strives to make her clients' dreams come true.
In addition to her own bridal boutique, Galit's designs are available at Kleinfeld Bridal in Brooklyn and Roma Sposa in Michigan.
