Exercise equipment is the largest one time investment you can make for your home health care. To help you make an informed decision I have searched the internet for products providing excellent quality. What, if any, equipment you plan on purchasing is a personal decision.
I do not receive samples or free demo equipment. I have visited some sites that “rate" exercise equipment and was very disappointed. If I thought everyone could afford $5,000 to $10,000 treadmills I wouldn’t be authoring this article. I’d recommend everyone hire a nutritionist and personal trainer.
Back to the subject of exercise equipment, I suggest you decide how much room you have and how much you want to invest. Don’t fill up a room with exercise equipment to collect dust. Decide what you would really use and go from there. That Gizmosizer you saw on television last night is most likely somebody’s get rich quick scheme. It may look nice in that spare bedroom but it won’t help your health. My rule of thumb is very simple. If you have to watch a video to learn to use it, don’t buy it. The traditional equipment has been around for a long time. Because it works!
Treadmills, exercise bicycles, and home gyms with weights should be your foundation. Any of these will probably be used and have proven themselves through the years. Most experts recommend you walk at least 3 miles a day. You can’t do that in bad weather so a treadmill would be good. If you like to ride bicycles instead of walking an exercise bike would be better for you. For the woman looking to perfect parts of her body the home gym would help you do that.
You need to walk before you can run (no pun intended) so start with the basics and if you really get into exercising than buy more advanced equipment. Buy one good quality piece of equipment at a time. Please don’t buy that Gizmosizer unless it can double as a coffee table or other useful household need. Two years from now you will know how to use a treadmill or exercise bike. Will you know where the video instructions are to the Gizmosizer? |
