Billy Mays has become a celebrity pitching infomercial products. He first got his start with the Orange Glo product line on a home shopping network. These as seen on tv products have made him a household name.

Billy Mays is a well know salesperson for infomercial products and currently resides in Florida. Some products Billy Mays is best known for promoting are Hercules Hook, SQV Ultimate Ladder, OxiClean, Kaboom and Orange Glo. Not only does Mr. Mays promote these products he uses them and stands by them.

The Hercules Hook makes it easy to hang pictures, mirrors, shelves, decorations and just about anything up to 150lbs. The hooks have a reinforced steel design.

The SQV Ultimate Ladder is 8 ladders in one. The ladder is made of Aircraft Grade Aluminum. It can hold up to 300 lbs and weighs only 25 lbs.

Oxiclean uses the power of oxygen to clean and deodorize. It cleans and whitens like bleach, but is completely safe on colors and your fabrics.

Kaboom makes it easy for you to keep a clean bathroom. With its "Tough on Grime, Easy on You" products, no cleaning job is too tough for Kaboom.

Orange Glo's uses 100% of Pure Orangle Oil found in the peels of oranges. It is a powerful degreasing action cleaner in your hands. Orange Glo cleans and conditions virtually any hard finished surface from woodwork to countertops.

Billy's TV pitches have helped make Orange Glo International one of the nation's fastest-growing companies. Billy's in your face commercials has earned him celebrity status. He has a huge fan based. During his personal appearances people line up to get his autograph and talk to him about the products he promotes.

After meeting with Orange Glo international Billy was recruited to demonstrate a line of cleaning products and became their pitchman on a home shopping network.. Sales took off the very first day. Next came commercials and infomercials followed. Billy Mays became a public face with The Orange Glo products.

Billy Mays is a true master in the sales world and television marketing. He developed his style demonstrating “As Seen On TV" gadgets.

This article was neither helpful nor unhelpful but simply praise of a man that I had great respect for until I was scammed by one of the products that he is advertising on tv....I went to the official web site of lint b gone and ordered (2) sets of the brushes, from the confusing web site I understood that the 1st set of brushes was $10.00 + $7.95 shipping/handling, the second set I thought would be shipping/handling only which should have been $7.95. I ordered the upgrade to industrial which was according to my understanding $2.99 per set. I decided that I wanted the rush shipping which was to be $5.95. After ordering I received and e-mail confirmation from someone confirming the order and telling me to call customer service if i had any questions, no customer service # was listed in the e-mail. I found the customer service # by searching the web, quess what? it was a number in Canada. When I told the girl that I did not understand the e-mail and felt that I had been scammed she then gave me what she said was a local #. I was first told that it would take 24 to 48 hrs for the order to download now I am being told that it will take 48 to 72 hours to download. At any rate I intend to report this to the BBB and Attorney General. I was told to add the amounts together shown on my e-mail confirmation and this is what I would be charged. Whenever you add the e-mail totals I would be paying approximately $72.00 for this remarkable, wonderful product advertised on tv as (2) sets for only $10.00 + shipping and handling. I really think that Billy should reconsider advertising this product or force the web-site to preview what they are buying and paying for before submitting any credit information. The site is difficult and deceitful.....I have informed their customer service that I intend to cancel my order, which they say they can do as soon as it is downloaded (this even though I have an order number) go figure. I do not expect to hear from anyone concerning this, but it would be nice to know that Billy is really as legitimate as I thought he was.

PS: How can this be rush shipping if the order takes 72 hours to download to the computer.....we put men on the moon quicker than that and I believed we used computers to do so.....

AMEN!!! I have been scammed with his advertising Awsome Auger. I was sent two sets, but only ordered one. Can't get anyone to answer the phone. I'm to the point of finding out where the man lives...if you know what I mean. I'll never order anything from him again,...or anybody else before reading their blogs on the internet. Boy was I scammed!!!

Billy Mays is an annoying idiot that will pitch dog crap if paid. What a jerk. The channel is changed as soon as he comes on, and the products he pitches are shunned by all that I know.

Sounds like Billy wrote the article himself. Anonymous is right about the annoying jerk. We refer to him as the Oxi-moron.

When Billy Mays appears on TV I immediately change the channel. What a jerk. He makes a living yelling at the top of his voice in your face, and the volume auto-increases on your TV at the same time giving you an instant headache. If I could afford it, I'd throw a brick through my TV screen every time he appears.  Promoting this guy as this article does is an insult to the public.

I cannot believe all these harsh comments regarding Billy Mays. They are down right childish and very mean spirited. Most people I know have one or more Billy Mays products in their homes, so his advertising is working. I see his infomercials and he is not yelling into the tv. He is a great spokesperson and he advertises the products very well. I bought mighty putty and have used it several times in my house. It's great! My husband has even used it to do some repairs on our car. Thanks Billy!!!

I hit the mute button every time I see this overbearing moron on tv. I don't know anyone who is dumb enough to buy the overpriced and cheap Chinese made junk he's selling.

The most annoying sound to ever come from a t.v. set is the voice of Billy Mays.
Like fingernails on a chalkboard, I can't believe that there's not a national movement to boycott the products whose manufacturers are inconsiderate enough to hire this idiot.
