O.K....O.K., I admit it! I was infatuated with Britney as I watched the, "Oops, I think I did it again" video a few years ago. And, my inner-teen was intriqued when she appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine with a new breast enhancement. Her baby-doll voice and flawless figure just cry for attention, and America responds to Britney's cries by showering her with unadulterated attention and praise. I was right up there with the rest of America until Saturday, February 17th 2007.
On that fateful Saturday, I was in my kitchen preparing a tasty meal, when I glanced up at the CNN Broadcast. I was totally shocked. I could not believe it! The report on CNN was not about the Iraq War, or a Dow Jones report, it was a headline report about Britney Spears shaving her head. For a moment, I thought I was watching Mad T.V. or a Saturday Night Live rerun. I excitedly picked up my remote in case I was on the Entertainment Channel. My t.v. display indicated that I was indeed watching CNN. Ted Turners' unbiased 24 hour news station that reports the worlds major events.
The report went into great detail about Britney being in a rehab, shaving her head, and receiving two tattoos. Later in the day, further reports explained that Britney shaved her head because she was tired of people wanting to touch her. O.K., this is from the same woman who danced seductively in the "Oops" video and wore flesh colored spandex on M.T.V. The same woman who broadcast her affair with her (ex) husband Kevin Federline on network television.
I do not mean to "Britney Bash," but if she does not want the media spotlight, why did she choose the career she did? Maybe this is just a con...quite possibly Britney is working the media to gain more attention...and American audiences are falling for it.
Yes, Britney did it again. |
