Even Guys Are Undergoing Plastic Surgery, and Taking Steroids. Is That Really Necessary To Get the Part?
Is changing your image a good thing before an audition? How far should it go? Even guys these days get plastic surgery.. but is that really required?
Sacreeta here, and wow that’s a heavy question.. that requires a deep well thought out answer.
How far are people willing to go to be noticed at an audition? Is plastic surgery too drastic? Or is changing your image enough?
Taking a look around us, at all the Superstars, we see them having surgery, taking steroids, having collagen injections to keep their youthful appearance, undergoing breast augmentation (implants), getting mystic tans (which makes them look orange).
What is it that they are trying to tell us? Do we all need to go under the knife, or pop pills, to look as glamorous as they do?
I think not.
Not all of us do. That doesn’t mean having surgery is a bad thing. Obviously it’s a personal choice. I’m simply saying it’s not a requirement.
Do the men need to work out out the gym, to build up a physique like Arnold Schwarzenegger, or Sylvester Stallone to get noticed at an audition?
Not unless the part calls for it. If you were auditioning for a Warrior Prince like Brad Pitt in Troy , than yes your muscular physique counts! And it wouldn’t hurt to hang out at the gym for a while before trying out. Other than that, no.
Men are sexy in so many ways. They each have their own qualities. Every film maker wants their project to be different. They want to stand out from the rest. The uniqueness is what makes the film special. In the film the Titanic, Leonardo DiCaprio wasn’t portrayed as a stealthy strong man. It was more a stylish version of a poor boy, that every girl would fall madly in love with. Just because of how he carried himself, and he looked incredible. Johnny Depp, isn’t normally portrayed as the armstrong man either, and yet his sensual being, and body language, and I could sit here all day explaining.. but it’s because it’s him. No one could fill his shoes. He is a special type of actor, he evolves into his character, he doesn’t demand his role suit himself personally. That makes him special. It makes his characters unique. And quite frankly, there isn’t one single thing about Johnny Depp any girl would want to see changed.
But what about the women? It can run along the same stream as the guys.
Take a look at Kate Hudson. She is one of the most stunning actors in the world. She is beautiful with all of her delicate features. How about Meg Ryan? She is another petite actor who is absolutely perfect exactly the way she is. Correct me if I’m wrong, but you would never hear of a plastic surgeon touching those lovely ladies.
Once in talking with Actor Bo Derek, who after becoming well established in the acting world hasn’t lost one bit of her natural beauty, she once said that she uses no enhancement specialty creams, she has no interest in plastic surgery, she simply eats right, exercises regularly and always had taken care of her skin. And wow, does it show. She is radiant, glamorous, and equally as beautiful as she was when she filmed the Movie 10.
Also on my top list is Cher . She is a timeless beauty. One of the things I admire about her the most is that she works for that perfect body. Her workout, Cherfitness is intense, and I remember her talking about that long before the work videos were made. It was something she had always done. She understands natural beauty, and it certainly for her, and no doubt for those who bought her video, has paid off.
What I am trying to get at, is this.
Take a good look at who you are. What type of personality do you carry. What type of voice do you have? Not your speaking voice, but the tone that you use when conversing.
You know it’s perfectly ok to rebuild your image. Try out different hair color and styles, wardrobes, accessories. Compare that to what you look like now, and see if you think you looked better in the first place. Consult some professionals in the field, beauty consultants, go to a make over studio, and try it. It’s great fun to try new things, and if you like the changes that’s great. If you don’t then put it back. At least you won’t be wondering what could be? Remember what works for someone else might not work for you, but sometimes what is working for you is what makes you special in the first place.
If you are feeling the dread. As in tired of your look. Try using products, or switching products. Products are not to be confused with pharmacy, or grocery store shampoo and creams. They are obtainable at most reputable salons, and are mostly used by actors and models. Using product in your hair, on your nails, and skin, will make you feel fresh and new. And if you are tired of your best outfit, shop around and try out a different style. And a well deserved trip to the spa everyone once in a while will do you the world of good.
Another good tip to remember?
When you do go to the salon, and have your hair, makeup, nails, ect done. And yes guys, it’s a good idea to get your nails done, to. Take notes. If they are using a hair straightener, make a note of it and pick one up. Don’t forget to ask them to sell you the product cream and oil they used prior to straightening your hair. Otherwise it won’t work when you use it at home. It’s no fun going home with a great do, than after you shower, your hair fluffs back to the way it was. Tell them your looks are your life, and you need to learn how they do your hair.
And working out at the gym taking Pilate, or using the machines, is great for vitality.
That’s a wrap..
Peace and Love
