Sore throats result from mucous membranes being inflamed. This is most notable when trying to swallow food or drink. Sore throats are usually caused by infections and are brought on by the flu or a cold. If a sore throat last longer than 5-7 days or is still problematic after the other cold or flu symptoms go away, you should see a doctor. Sore throats can also be caused by allergies and other irritants.
The pain of a sore throat may be accompanied with dryness or scratchiness. If you have a sore throat you should get a lot of rest and drink a lot of fluids.

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon ground mustard seed
1 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoon of honey
1 1/4 cups boiling water
juice of half a lemon
-Combine all ingredients and cover for 15 minutes. Use as a gargle. Be careful not to burn yourself with this hot liquid.
