Have you ever ended up in a situation where your cell phone battery was dying on you at the wrong time and you did not have your charger on you?

Relax; there is a quick fix to unlock the extra battery life to your cell phone.

To activate this hidden battery life, press the keys *3370# on your cell phone.

Your cell phone will restart with this reserve and the instrument panel or your battery diagnostic page will reflect a 50% increase in battery. On my Siemens SX66 PDA phone, it increased the back up battery 100%!

This battery reserve will get charged as well the next time that you charge your cell phone and will continue to show on your battery diagnostic page or instrument panel.

The code works by telling your cell phone how to reallocate battery power to only necessary functions.

This is extremely handy if you have a PDA cell phone.

Whilst this may be considered by some to be a urban legend, it actually did work for me.

Editors Note: This advice has been reported to be an urban legend and is considered not true. The 3370# function is available on some Nokia phones and turns on "enhanced full rate codec" which actually reduces talk time. Please see http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/household/cellphones.asp

This article is old and does not work with the new generation of phones. When this article was applicable,  you would do it when the phone was low, not dead.

Everyone listen, this code is only usable with older generation phones. So please stop complaining about it not working on your new phones, it is how it is. If it bothers you that much, get an old phone :D

Thank you Rielly! This code may have only been compatible with the Siemens SX66 PDA phone, that was released 4 years ago. This is an old article and is here for archival purposes. This information is no longer valid in 2011.
