There are many characteristics found when you are affected by the ringing ear symptom. Manifestations may include noises in your ear, including ringing, buzzing, roaring, whistling, and even a hissing noise. The reduced hearing may be a result of earwax buildup. This wax build up loudens internal noises and may worsen the symptoms.

Ringing Ear Symptoms For Dummies

Exposure to loud noises and swelling or inflammation of the tympanic membrane or even an overdose of aspirin can cause ringing ear symptom. Frequently cases of a ringing in the ears are misdiagnosed.

Many times the ringing ear symptom in the inner ear will cause TMJ resulting from a "bad bite". The mechanics of the jaw consist of a network of vessels, muscles and nerves and when the bite is out of alignment, the muscles, nerves and vessels of the ears can be affected. Too much contraction may result in a ringing in the ears. If a uncertain bite causes the ringing ear symptom, a neuromuscular dentist can realign your bite so the jaws are synchronized with less muscle tension.

Most experts agree that the ringing ear symptom is very prevalent among those with a high frequency hearing loss which often will be caused from a blow to the head. However everyone with high frequency hearing loss may not necessarily experience a ringing in the ears. The fact that you have high frequency hearing loss does not mean you will develop a ringing in the ears. That's because there are simply that many variables associated with a constant ringing in the ears. If you are subjected to a a blow to the head the a ringing in the ears is often triggered.

A well known a ringing in the ears fact, there is a 90% chance that your tinnitus is caused by cochlear damage.

Ear infections, altered hearing, or even vertigo (light headedness) can be connected to a muscle-spasm problem originating with alignment of the teeth. In addition the ringing ear symptom can be an indication of an allergy, high or low blood pressure, diabetes, a tumor, injury to the head or neck, thyroid problems, and a variety of other causes including medications such as anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, sedatives, antidepressants, and aspirin.

Symptoms of a ringing in the ears may come and go, continuous, or of a pusatile quality. You may even have single or multiple tones. When there are fewer distractions or at night the ringing ear symptom can be more annoying.

Many a ringing in the ears patients are so badly afflicted with ringing ear symptom that they are permanently incapacitated and battle to live normal lives. The ringing in the ears that they hear are constantly with them and indeed affect every facet of their lives.
