In our society today we are always looking for the newest thing, a way to have fun while sitting in the comfort of our own homes, or the nearest Starbucks. I decided to look for a few interactive, entertaining sites to keep me busy. The results of my quest are listed below.
If you enjoy wordplay and the English language, I found a site that has games, puzzles, etymology and more called The Wordplay Web Site. There is an area called Word Records that offers puzzles and information. Check out
www.fun-with-words.com and see how time flies when you are having fun.
Whether you have a question about anything or think you know all the answers you will enjoy this next site. Their slogan is "The only stupid questions are the ones left unasked." This site gives everyone the chance to ask and answer questions about pretty much anything. Do you know what the little circles are for on the back bottom of a Lay's chip bag? If you do, please answer that question...I am truly curious. This family friendly site occasionally holds contests. Your fervor for trivia will be satisfied at
www.unasked.com .
For a site that is for parents and kids together check out
www.kaboose.com. This web site includes recipes, crafts, and party ideas. There is a section especially for parents that gives tips to make child-rearing the great experience it should be.
If you need help with, or enjoy math
www.k111.k12.il.us/King/math.htm has activities to keep you busy no matter your age. The site includes math games, logic games, interactive puzzles and a parent helps section. I never got the hang of the marbles and rows puzzle, but I had fun trying.
Last, but not least, there is even a web site that is specifically geared for those who need to take a break from job hunting. Yes, you read that correctly.
www.1st-writer.com/take_a_break.htm includes a resume quiz interview prep information along with a some break time entertainment.
