The concrete cutting slab saw is the professional concrete cutters most commonly used tool. There are various types of concrete cutting slab saws to accommodate every concrete cutting slab sawing application. Gas and diesel concrete cutting slab saws are used for everyday road sawing, bridge deck cutting and general flat sawing. Hydraulic, electrical and propane concrete cutting slab saws for inside work where exhaust fumes may cause a hazard. Road repair, concrete saw cutting for utility construction, bridge rehabilitation and concrete control joint sawing are just a few examples of the versatility of the concrete cutting slab saw.

Concrete slab sawing is typically used to cut horizontal flat surfaces. Slab saws feature a diamond saw blade that is specifically designed to cut through concrete with ease. This diamond saw blade is then mounted on a walk-behind concrete cutting saw. Concrete cutting slab saws are generally used to provide concrete expansion joints, remove damaged pavement or concrete sections, clean and repair random cracks in concrete for repair, and remove concrete sections for demolition purposes.

Concrete slab saws can be powered by gasoline, diesel, electric, hydraulic and even pneumatic engines. Concrete slab saw diamond blades can range from 12 – 60 inches in diameter and can cut up to 27 inches in depth. A 120 horsepower, water-cooled, gas powered slab saw can cut up to 27 inches deep. When no exhaust or fumes are allowed, such as in food preparation areas, hospitals, and in enclosed shopping malls, an electric or hydraulic concrete cutting saw is used.

Concrete slab sawing, (also known as flat sawing), is typically used to cut horizontal flat surfaces such as floors, bridge decks and pavement. Concrete slab saws utilize a diamond saw blade that is mounted on a walk-behind saw that requires only one operator. A concrete cutting slab saw can cut up to 33 inches in depth. Concrete slab sawing is the perfect solution for making safety grooves on highways where traction and drainage are important.
