The title of this article comes from the bible verse of ( 1st Timothy 5:20) which I became aware of in my reading of an article by Brother Michael Dimond, O.S.B. There many more that can be printed, however, it should suffice for believers who wonder how we can change what we comprehend is now happening in this world opposite to our belief. The answer of course is through our actions and the title speaks to it all.

The world is full of the eloquent orators and speakers who can cast a spell over people and lead them into whatever beliefs they want them to follow. They look good, appear to be what they are not and seem to be the answer. However, in reality they bring nothing but more of the same. They dare not address the truth but would rather ignore and they would rather look the other way when sin is committed for their own gain and ideology.

To paraphrase this well-known Bible verse, beware of wolves that come in sheep’s clothing, devouring and by their works we shall know them. Simply put, we will know them clearly not by what they say but their deeds and actions. Their words are the seducer. And these are the same ones who will attack you intensely for bringing the dark into the light.

I have also noticed that each and every day either in papers or on TV the substance of many of my articles is discussed and yet the issues remain unresolved. We are dumbfounded that supposedly educated men and woman do not have answers. Is there another verse somewhere, to paraphrase once again, that the Captains will run too and fro seeking answers but they will be overwhelmed and confused?

Now many of my articles address what I call sin. So in writing about them I am not only elaborating on that which is being done but also that which in my opinion is the act being performed by the person who commits it and who condones it. You see you are just as guilty as the perpetrator when you ignore sin and the crime and let it continue? We are obligated as Christians to go to our professed brothers and confront them.

If you have read any of my articles you know what I am speaking to. The list grows even larger and as they say in A Christmas Carol, “the chain is ever so long and heavy".

So to my fellow writers and those who bring the message to the masses continue to do so because you are, even if you do not recognize it, inspired by something more then this world’s motivation. You are inspired by ideals, values and core characteristics that make you who you say you are. You are inspired by faith and beliefs, which this world has not entirely accepted. Yes, the world has religion in any number of forms. Yes, they have beliefs in any number of ways. But, and this is the most significant but of those who profess the one true God and acknowledge Him as Love and Mercy.

Here is the examination for them. Are they of the conviction that Mercy, Compassion, Forgiveness, Charity and Love of Neighbor and God are the elements of believers that separate them from all the others who profess to be and do they perform those acts in all that they do, as a priority and a requirement as believers?

So when you examine someone to vote for, look at their record and not the smile, fancy words and what they say. It is in their deeds and actions that a person can be recognized. Is all they do for themselves, to create wealth, gain power or to reward their inner circle and at the expense of the helpless, the poor, the worker, the downtrodden, the sick and the dying to name a few. Then in my opinion they have no right to profess anything other then what they truly are. That is a seeker of all that this world has to offer and no more.

So do not be dismayed, even though they stand and praise God, go to church, sup with the religious elite or perform outward signs. You see they will even be accepted and recognized in church by the same types who crave the world and you who bring the truth will be the outcasts and problem. You see if they are of the world they will never understand this message. So God has already addressed them to those who truly believe that we all should know them. It is for us not to be deceived, fooled or to fall into their trap.

Look at their deeds and when not in line with what they profess then write them and bring that which is false and dark into the light. Then you will have “ When they are in sin rebuked them in the presence of all, that the rest also may have fear."

God Bless!

Robert, I read this article shortly after it was posted. I've just read it a second time and feel the same. I love the Word of God. I recognize it when I hear it. There is something about Truth that agrees with Truth. In my spirit, I feel joy and burdended. The burden isn't harsh but motivating. It's a burden to do as your article/message has suggested: "When They Sin Rebuke Them In the Presence of All, That the Rest Also May Have Fear." Thank you! Excellent teaching!

No, the thanks is mine Avis for your kind words. I feel prompted to write more about the spiritual and your comment in a prior article was a confirmation to do so. You see you understand that the Word is the path for believers. As believers we are commanded to do so but with Love. Love does no harm but only good. So when we rebuke we actually must stop and consider our own faults for we all fall. We must do so with love and compassion but with fact, truth and compassion. God bless.
