Comfy Sack Versus Love Sac: Comparing Bean Bag Chairs

There's a lot of competition in the world of huge bean bags right now. Several companies are vying to make the best next-generation bean bag for the home market. These bean bag chairs are versatile pieces of furniture that can replace the couch in a television room, family room or game room and often become one of the most used pieces of furniture in the house.

But how do the different manufacturers stack up against each other? Lets take a look at two of the biggest oversized bean bag furniture makers out there, Comfy Sack and Love Sac.

The Comfysack is filled with shredded Comfy Foam, made of high-quality furniture-grade polyurethane foam, while Love Sacks are made of shredded Durafoam a type of scrap polyurethane foam also used in carpet padding. Both products are much more comfortable and durable than the foam pellets used to fill beanbags of old.

The products are shipped in a shrunken state to save on shipping costs. All the consumer has to do is fluff up the bean bag and insert it into its cover to make the bean bag couch useable.

Both Comfy Sacks and Love Sacs offer microsuede and cotton twill covers in several colors. Luv Sacs are also available in faux fur and custom faux velvet fibers. All custom covers for the Love Sacs cost extra—up to more than $500 extra depending on the size of the bean bag and the type of cover—while your choice of cover is built into the price of the Comfysacks.

Love Sacks come in four different sizes:

  • The PillowSac, at 6 feet by 5 feet, seats two people
  • The MovieSac, 5 feet by five feet, also seats two
  • The SuperSac at 6 feet by six feet, seats three adults
  • The BigOne, 8 feet by 8 feet, seats a crowd

By comparison, the Comfysack is available in five sizes:

· The 3.5 Joey, good for one small person

· The 5 foot Gamer, for a child or adult (or both)

· The 6 foot Video Sack, for three adults

· The 7.5 foot lounger, which seats four

· The 8 foot Party, fit for a full house

Comfy Sacks are made in the United States and come with a two year limited warranty on both the bean bag and the cover. Luv Sacks are made in China and have what they call a "two lifetime" guarantee against manufacturer defects that cause the bean bag to break, leak or go flat. Any other damage is protected by a 90-day warranty against manufacturer defects.

LoveSacs can be purchased online or from retail stores. Comfy Sacks can be purchased online. Once you add your chosen cover to the cost of a Love Sac, the price could be more than twice that of the Comfy Sack.

Both Comfy Sacks and Love Sacs are high-quality oversized bean bags that will change the way you watch television and entertain friends.

I would like to know which product is of higher quality, not just which one is cheaper. If money were no object, which product would be preferred?

Well, What I Can tell you about Comfy Sacs...I have one that was made two years ago. However, I recomended them to a friend and they just got one at Christmas time. I could not belive the difference in quality between the one they just bought and the one that I had. The liner on my friends ripped the second day they had it. The quality of foam also seems to have gone down...If it was up to me....I would defidently go with anything but comfy Sac. At least in China they are making a good quality product. PS. I later found out that Comfy Sac switched to a different manufactur that is of very poor quality!

I just got my 7.5 ft comfy sack lounger a few days ago and I love it. its only been a few days and it has expanded very well and it is big enough to act as another bed. I thought it wasn't going to be that big but it was! It is so tempting to sleep on it at night after playing videogames, but I dragged myself to get into bed because I wanted it to take its time expanding for the week.

I sat in the LoveSac's at our local mall and it seemed harder (stiff) than my comfy sack. The comfy sack is so much softer and more comfortable. There are no issues with the quality. I will update if any!

Neither of these two makers bags compare in comfort to the traditional make od the upscale cozybay out of Atlanta. Their loveseat completely molds to your body and supports your neck and upper back. Neither LovSac nor Comfy bag allows the body to mold....Foam is the problem ...pin sized poly-styrene pellets are much more comfortable than foam, in fact, any comparison made by the consumer automatically chooses the cozybag and its poly-styrene filler. Also, one can hardly move the oversized Luvsac while the Cozybag weighs less that 30 lbs. Dickie F.

When it all comes down to it, especially if you are serious about furnishing your home with beanbag furniture, then Love Sac would be your best choice. ComfySack only offers a 2 year warranty, while Love Sac offers a "double lifetime" gaurantee. The kicker about this is that the memory foam that is supplied with either companies bags are prone to going "flat" within 3-5 yrs time. So if you buy a cozy sack, expect it to be ripped, flat and unrepairable within that time. However with your super expensive love sac, atleast you can get a complete replacement, for free. Think of the high price of Love Sac as good insurance, because these beanbags do wear out with a lot of use (I have 3, friends have even more)
If you only expect a few years out of a bean bag, then get a CozySack. If you want something that will last for years, and have an extensive assortment of covers, go with the Love Sac.
