Rwanda is a tiny country in Africa that saw horror in 1994 as a result of Habyarimana Juvenal (president at the time) was killed in a plane crash that was planned by the current Rwanda's president, Paul Kagame. Over the course of 100 days, more than 10% of its population lost their lives. Two major tribes Hutus and Tutsis killed each other as the outside nations watched from a distance. Hutus killed Tutsis in regions where Hutus were predominant, and Tutsis did the same where they were the majority. The truth is that Hutus killed Tutsis, and Tutsis killed Hutus. t
Just like the movies 'Hotel Rwanda' and 'Sometimes In April', today's Rwandan government has spread a lot of rumors of how Hutus killed Tutsis, while Tutsis died like ants helplessly. It does not tell both sides of the story because it does not want Tutsis to look bad, keeping in mind that Mr. Kagame is a Tutsi. A few courageous Rwandan current citizens have stood up and said the truth of what really happened, but Mr. Kagame has given orders that any one who says what he does not what them to say, will 'disappear'. Today, all Rwandan citizens live in fear, under the rule of a Hitler-Like President. Two of Kagame's body guards have fled the country in order to say the truth about what is happening in Rwanda today, and what planes Kagame has for the future Rwanda. His plan is to slowly eliminate all Hutus until the country becomes Hutu-Free country. More of their stories will be found at http://www.rwandaforum.org.
A tribunal court (GACACA) has been organized to try all people who are suspected to have participated during the 1994 massacre. So far, more than 760,000 individuals have been arrested, including thousands of innocent ones. It not a surprise that out of all the imprisoned people, not a single person is a Tutsi. They are all Hutus. Not even one Hutu was found innocent, and basically what people need, is only two people to (falsely) testify against you. Then, off to jail you go. Is that Justice? You be the Judge.
Today, not a single soul in Rwanda is safe except President Paul Kagame alone. Everyone is living in fear, and it is more certain that if outside nations, especially Western Nations, stay away and pretend like nothing is happening, then things will only get worse. Rwandan citizens want justice, the government just will not give it to them. As Martin Luther King Jr. Said "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere". |
