Acne is a horrible experience to go through. Then, after you're done breaking out, acne leaves you with dark or reddish scars!

I have had to go through this myself. It took me awhile but I finally found a technique that works. The magic secret is basically to exfoliate the skin, then heal the skin. However, if you want your skin to look good, you must go about this the right way:

Step 1: Prevent future breakouts. Once you clear those pimples up, you'll want to keep them way because the less blemishes you have, the less scars you'll have to take care of.

Step 2: Exfoliate every 2-3 days. Do not use harsh chemical exfoliants like salycic acid to exfoliate your skin. These formulas tend to irritate the skin causing it to look more inflammed than it normally would. I found the best method to be GENTLE manual exfoliation. The most effective & economical is wither sand or cornmeal. I prefer cornmeal because it's much cleaner! Mix this with some liquid soap (like Dr. Bronner's liquid castille soap) and some water. Prepare a little a time, to make it easier to handle. Apply the scrub to your skin in a soft circular motion. Don't work on any one area too long. Remember, you do not want to irritate your skin.

Step 3: Heal the skin with pure natural vitamin E oil. Real vitamin E oil will be brownish in color, not clear/yellow. This skin friendly vitamin will do wonderful things for your appearance. The 1st application wll be the one to dramatically reduce scar visibility. To apply, make sure skin is clean & dry. For optimal results, apply after exfoliation. Spread this thick oil on anywhere you want better looking, softer skin. Make sure to cover all acne scars completely.

Step 4: Rinse skin in the morning. Do not wash with soap or cleanser.

Doing this regularly will definitely help your acne scars to fade faster. Skin heals itself while you're sleeping so use these techniques before bed for the best results. You're on your way to smooth & healthy skin!

are you sure vitamin e oil doesn't clog pores? i am really paranoid because i have extremely sensitive skin and practically everything i use besides glycerin soap makes me break out. Is it possible for this oil to cause breakouts?

I also have really sensitive skin that used to break out from any and everything. Vitamin E has never caused a problem for me, so I highly doubt that it's capable of clogging pores.

The yellow colored Vitamin E oil should show some improvement, but darker vit. E is much more potent.

My skin dries out very easily. Sometimes even lotion causes it to become more dry. Do you think if I put the vit E oil on overnight it would cause it to become really dry?

Hi

I honestly don't know how your skin will react, but I feel that pure vitamin E can only help. About the lotions that dried out your skin - did they contain any fragrances, preservatives, mineral oil or petroleum? These can cause a lot of skin problems and are found in most brands of lotion.

You might want to do a test with whatever cooking/olive oils you have around the house. Try putting these on your skin, as they aren't likely to clog pores like mineral oil will. And remember to drink enough water.

Good luck!

I put it on my whole face (I had quite a few scars to work on), but if you don't like the feeling you can concentrate on the scars only.

I got mine from my local health food store. It's Home Health brand - comes in a small .5 oz clear glass bottle with a white cap.

You can also get it from here: http://www.amazon.com/Home-Health-Natural-Vitamin-Skin/dp/B00014GBZ8

Was able to find the Home Health on Amazon! Trying out your method starting today. I have super oily skin so hopefully it won't break out. Also for the ladies on here. WATER WATER WATER!! Honestly I drink 2-3 bottles a day and my skin has become so much clearer hardly any breakouts even during my period. Also my dermatologist told me to stay away from oily food and chocolate!! Works wonders! And that's all natural! Now that the pimples are pretty much gone I'm looking for a natural way to fade the scars. I'll let you guys know if the Vit E works for me!! Good Luck Girls!! (also w/ the water and food restrictions..be diligent and in about a week or two you'll see results..but be strict about it)

Wow... I just had this for 2 NIGHTS and I'm almost completely CLEAR of my acne scars. I can't believe how fast it works. I even had acne scars from years ago that are completely disappearing. Plus, it attacks my current acne right now. There was a pimple forming on my forehead and when I put on for those 2 nights, it's COMPLETELY gone.

Vitamin E oil is amazing :)....

Hi I currently have a lot of acne scars and have recently changed to a new face wash that contains salycic acid and recently my acne scars have become much more red and irritated looking. I was wonder along with this step by step routine, what face wash did you use? I;m looking for something gentle and that will not wear off in a few years (i.e. proactiv) because I was using Proactiv for so long, it simply stopped working for my skin. Please help, I'm starting college in the fall and I need a stable face wash routine.
