Depending on your previous hardware, this may require a pair of network interface cards ( NICs ), some network cables, and a network hub . On the other hand, you can make with the old computer a special window to the external world. You can use it as a special communication device to email exchange, to communicate to friends or new people via chat room, to watch TV, to play online and offline games, and so on.

Computer for kids: If it is not affordable for the family to buy a special computer for kids, you can use old computer for this goal.
