I bought a Sportcraft TX420 treadmill from a local store, and I lost the magnetic key of the treadmill due to my kids playing with it. I only used the treadmill for about 3 times now, and it's been 2 years since I had it, and I'm afraid it will rust just by sitting in the house, not being used, since I lost the magnetic key, I could not use the treadmill at all. Any information you could provide for me, in how to reorder another magnetic key for my treadmill, will be highly appreciated.
If it's like mine and the magnetic key goes in the little circle on top of the display then most any magnet will work. I have a magnetic clip from work that I use on mine.

Today I just bought a treadmill tx 5.0 RC from walmart for $250 USD. It was bought brandly new. However, I got a code 3 error when I started the unit. after a lot of research work, I found on the internet the possible cause of the problem. I opened up the frame of the treadmill and located the speed sensor. Then I found out the magnet pulley wheel was broken! It was still attached to the axis yet cracked open in several places! DOA! What a piece of crap. Will never buy sportcraft again.

I'm having a problem with my SportCraft TX5.0 RC treadmill. I couldn't get it to work so I opened the bottom frame & found the round plastic counter wheel, that has the little square holes in it, was cracked & someone had inserted 4 screws into it ! It turns on but there are no lights on the console. It clicks when I push the "Mode" button or when I remove the magnetic safety key. What now? Is my treadmill trashed forever?
If this little wheel is on the right side, then it's your speed sensor. Mine was recently broken also. I slipped it off of the bar and glued it with a little epoxy. Run bread ties or string thru the holes to hold it together while it dries. I'm not sure why it has screws in it...mine does not. Also make sure that the little sensor that's pointed toward that wheel is clean. As far as your lights, make sure your fuse hasn't blown.
the telephone number to sportcraft is 1800 526 0244. I also have a tx 5.0 rc and the wheel and sensor both got broken during transport. the wheel requires replacing the entire front roller at a cost of 18.00 and the sensor it's self is only 3.00 and then you have shipping and handling cost but fairly cheap to fix.

Ok calling this number is how you order the sensor replacement>? thanks a lot I will do this, but could you please let me know if your treadmill is working now. thanks a lot
Our tx 5.0 rc treadmill doesn't work right now . When we put the safety key in it clicks on and the #7 shows up on the distance/pulse but it will not go on. Nothing happens after that the belt doesn't turn on. We only used it for a couple of months and when we tried to use it about 6 mos. later this is what happened. Howcan we fix this problem.

I own the tx 5.0 treadmill and when i put the key in none of the lights show up so i can't get the treadmill to work. Does anyone have any idea what i can try?

I ended up having to get a new control panel, and as I had owned it less than a year, it was no problem getting the part. I got the new part last spring, and ran outside with the nicer weather so hadn't used it. I put the new panel on, and it worked for 3 min, and then went to a 3 code. I tried it several times, and now it will only work for 7 sec at a time. I put back on my old panel, and it did it too....code 3. What does that mean, and what can I do? My warranty is expired now.
