God gets a “bad rap" sometimes. People walk away from prayer empty-handed, assuming they didn’t get the answer because it “must not be God’s will." First John 5:14-15 says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."
So if you have asked according to what God has promised in His Word, then it’s yours. The answer already exists, you just need to “let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." James 1:4
Second Corinthians 1:20 says, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us."
The Word of God clearly reveals His general will for our lives. His answer to a prayer in line with the Word of God is always “yes." If it doesn’t happen, it’s never a breakdown on God’s part, it’s on us. It is our part to believe that God’s Word is the final say for our lives and settle for nothing less.
If you have set aside your confidence and succommed to the idea that maybe the promise you found in the Bible must not have been God’s will for your life, I’m here to tell you the answer to that prayer is yours. You just need patience.
If we have the confidence that every last promise is “yes" and “amen" from the throne of God, then you stand, expectantly waiting for the answer to come. The devil will send thoughts your way to persuade you otherwise, but if you cling to your hope and tell him to scat, you will have what you have asked from the Lord.
Does it seem like it’s taking God too long to answer your prayer? Let me help you change your perspective. From Heaven’s viewpoint, God begins orchestrating your answer immediately, but His timetable is different than ours. Second Peter 3:8 says, “But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." Here’s how that equates:

God’s Timetable
1000 years = 1 God day
1 God year = 365,000 years
1 God week = 7,000 years
1 God month = 31,000 years

1 God day = 365,250 days (includes 250 days for leap years)
            For us, 80 years = 29,220 days.
                        15 years = 5,475 days.
1 God hour = 15, 219 days (over 41 years, which means the Children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for less than a God hour)
1 God minute = 254 days (which equals January 1st to August 12th.)
1 God second = 4.23 days

So, in light of eternity, when God moves it doesn’t take long to get things done. We function on a more limited mindset. With patience we can enjoy our lives while we wait expectantly for the answer. It is the tool to keeping our cool while God is at work. His answer is always “yes" ad “amen" when you ask according to His Word.

We may have our own idea of how the answer should come or when it should come, but God’s ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9). In an eternity-instant our answer will come. We can have the assurance that He is never late, but always on time.
