The Spring of Life

"And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by.  For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint.  Though is tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day."  (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

A few days ago one of my friends told me about her dream... a dream home.  She has been dreaming about this specific apartment by the sea for quite a while... but as it is beyond her budget, she has given up this dream.  I could tell that her heart was deeply saddened because she could not afford to pay for her dream.  I believe she is not alone with a sad heart, thinking that her dreams could never be fulfilled.

I believe we all have dreams and visions and it is good.  We should have them.  We should dream... but we shouldn't give up on our dreams when we can't afford them.  God has called us to live by faith and not by sight.  God has called us to live supernatural lives and not natural lives.  Luke 1:37 tells us that all things are possible for the one who believes.  So, the truth is there is nothing that is impossible... when we believe.  God has called us to dream... dream big.  God has called us to put our faith and our hope in Him and not in our own power and ability.  Indeed all things become possible for us when we take the steps the Lord has taught to take in order to get our dreams fulfilled.

I want to share with You the steps the Lord has personally taught me over the years... the steps I have taken again and again... and seen my dreams come true!

1. "Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets."  (Habakkuk 2:2)

God taught me to not only dream in my head but write my dreams down.  We have to write down those things that we desire.  He has taught me to be specific.  ...for He can't answer vague prayers.  If we want a bigger house, we need to be specific.  We need to write down our dreams the way we really dream them and desire them, ...NOT the way we could somehow afford them.  We have to learn to forget the affording part.  We write down our dreams and leave the rest to God.

2.  "God calls things that are not as though they were"  (Romans 4:17)  "Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, IT WILL BE DONE FOR HIM."  (Mark 11:23)

After writing down our dreams, we won't just sit and wait for them to come true.  The second point that God has taught me is to THANK HIM FOR THOSE DREAMS EVERY DAY.  We do not have to feel that we have faith to receive them.  Faith grows while we thank God for the fulfillment of our dreams.  Also while thanking Him, things are being moved in the spirit realm.  We call our dreams into being.  We speak to the mountains that might be on our way.   We cast them out of our way.  That is HOW things come into being.  This is the way God created everything and the Word says in Ephesians 5:1 that we are to copy God, to do like He does.

3. "For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (TRUST, BE CONFIDENT) THAT IT IS GRANTED TO YOU, AND YOU WILL [GET IT]."  (Mark 11:24)

Faith is NOW.  When we write down our dreams we should put down those dreams in present tense.  We should thank God for those things in the PRESENT TENSE.  ...for according to Mark 11:24 if we have prayed for something, then it has already been granted to us.  When something has already been granted to us, we won't have to ask for those things again.  Now is the time to thank for those things that we have received by faith.  By giving thanks to God for the fulfillment of our dreams, we express our faith.  I agree that in the beginning we might not even feel we have faith to receive what we have asked for.  But it doesn't matter whether we FEEL any faith or not.  For "Faith comes by hearing and hearing..." (Rom.10:17)  Our faith grows while we keep thanking God for our dreams.

4. "Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag].  For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you."  (Luke 6:38)

I remember hearing Dr.Oral Roberts say that God had taught him to sow a seed every time there was a need in his life.  Dr. Roberts never did anything without sowing a seed for it first.  I remember that one of the most unexpected things for me was when God told me to sow out a (financial) seed for the salvation of one of my friends who I was praying for.  Whatever we desire, God will show us what is the seed we would have to sow in order to reap what we are asking for.  Helping others is also a seed.  Help someone else's dream come true, and You will be helped many times over.  Everything in the kingdom of God works by sowing and reaping... before we reap, we will have to sow.

5. "But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together WILL BE GIVEN YOU besides."  (Matthew 6:33)

When we have written down our dreams and visions and we are daily taking the time to thank God for those dreams...then we should concentrate on God and His Word.  Those dreams that we are dreaming are bigger than what we can do ourselves.  The faith level where we are at in the present, does not bring our dreams to pass.  We need to step on a new level of faith to attain those dreams.  WE NEED TO CHANGE OUR THINKING.  Our spirits are ready to receive but our minds block the progress.  That is WHY so many people who receive a healing during big faith conferences so often lose it when they step back into their daily realities.  Their minds immediately tell them that this healing is not possible and they transgress back into their disease.  Yes, God healed them... but they were not able to hold on to this healing for their minds were not renewed.  The same way so often when business people are given an awesome and great opportunity, they won't take it, because their minds keep them on a lower level and tell them that they won't be able to fulfill the commitment.  We NEED to daily renew our minds through the Word of God in order to step out of the limitations that we have allowed to keep us back.  We also daily need to keep our dreams in front of our eyes and on our lips.  This way our minds learn to believe what our hearts already believe!

6. "For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint.  Though is tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day."  (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

Finally, when we have written our dreams down, we are thanking God daily for them, we are renewing our minds and stepping on a new level of thinking... we will have to wait.  For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end fulfillment.  It WILL NOT DECEIVE or disappoint.  Though it tarry, we shall have to earnestly, expectantly, confidently wait for it, because it WILL SURELY COME.

When we write those dreams down, we don't even have to have any faith to receive them.  We just do what the Word of God tells us to do.  We thank God for the fulfillment of those dreams.  We keep our eyes on God and in His Word... and step by step our faith grows, until our faith is strong and ready to receive what was impossible to us a little while ago.  Then when God tells us to step out, it is time to step out and receive what we have been believing for.

Wow!  Isn't this exciting?!  Everything is possible for the one who believes!  We live by faith and not by sight.

I wish You all many, many blessings and big, bold dreams.  We are called to dream... dream big... believe big... and receive big!

The article "Dare to Dream Big Dreams...." was among those listed as initiating new volunteer reviewing. Article would have seemed more altruistic and serving others if it had included fewer egocentric references, e.g. of the three lead in paragraphs, 2 start out with the character/word "I."

Moreover, the listing of 6 steps to dream realization probably were not revealed in sequence, as is insinuated in step 2 where author says "The second point that God has taught me...."

Credulity could have been better rendered had not almost every paragraph and/or "point" included exlamation marks!!! Some times even three of them, as if commands "Act Astonished," which the reader is not apt to do on command. Similarly, the use of a question mark immediately followed by an exclamation mark is confusing if not downright illogical. I was unable to conjure up on demand any feeling of incredulity followed by one of emphatic agreement.

From context I infer that this article was written by one of the Christian faith, yet--without having checked biblical chapter and verse as to what speaker was being quoted--not a single observation by Jesus is included in an article loaded with quotes and references. Perhaps writer had never been exposed to Thomas Jefferson's editing of Scripture which consisted of ignoring all but direct statements attributed to Jesus.

A more instructive exposition of prayer and realization is found in articles/chapters of the book "Teach us to Pray" by Charles and Cora Fillmore (founders of Unity School of Christianity) which is/are now about a century old.

They would agree with the contemporary writers Esther and Jerry Hicks that the apparent delay in realization of dreams (Step 6), is due to the "buffer of time," to the readjustments within what we call external reality in order that that which is truly miraculous is seen and understood as having been effected by logical and explainable circumstances.

This article's author could morely brightly hone the heart of her message by trimming first. Even the rhetorical opening "Dare to Dream...," seeking to challenge and engage, actually from the start engages difference of opinion; one could argue that every dream is of consquence, is a "big" one. But this is only one point among others which an English teacher might mark, "Cliche' thinking." That if they do that anymore and don't now accept anything as politically correct.

Dear Dr. Bud Custead,

Thank You so much for visiting my site. Thank You for reading the article and leaving such a long comment. I truly appreciate that You have taken so much time to write down what You think. I am grateful for constructive criticism for it only helps me to become a better writer. I completely agree with You that I use too many exclamation marks... and I have removed most of them. It is hard to express the excitement though that I feel about the Word of God and the wonderful promises of the Lord and His Love... so I tend to overdo the exclamation marks. Though I did leave the question mark and exclamation mark together... as to my mind it expresses what I want to express - a question and a exclamation of joy in one :-)

I will have to re-read Your article as to be honest, I did not understand all of what You were saying... and no, I have not read the materials that You are refering to. I am sharing my faith and my experiences. I am sharing what I have learned works and I am sharing it because I do believe it will help someone else too.

I am grateful though, that although we do see God differently oftentimes and we do express our faith differently, we can still be sisters and brothers in Christ and love one another in Him.

I wish You many, many blessings and success in all You do,

Eve Juurik

Dear Homer,

I now re-read Your message. You accuse me of being egocentric in my article for using the word "I"... but I am sharing my own personal experience and the ways the Lord has taught me. This is the reason I can't use any other name.

You said that there is not one single observation by Jesus included in my article. Oh, Homer, points number 2, 3, 4, 5 are all Jesus' personal quotations. He has taught us those steps in the Bible. You also accuse me for not being Biblical... although I bring out the Biblical steps of seeing our dreams fulfilled... and yes, the Bible teaches us that God wants us to dream, even telling us that He Himself wants to bring our dreams to pass:

"Delight yourself also in the Lord and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart." (Psalm 37:4)

"You have given him his heart's desire and have not withheld the request of his lips." (Psalm 21:2)

I am sorry, but I honestly do not understand Your points.

Many blessings to You,

Eve Juurik

Dear Homer or is it Dr. Bud Custead... as You had two identical comments under those two names... one of which is deleted now. I have a question, are You a Christian? For I do understand Your comment much better if You were not a Christian. Then I can understand that You did not recognize Jesus' words... though the whole Bible is God's inspired and every word there is important. Homer, I can understand You not being satisfied with my writing style... and trust me, I am learning to be better in it... but to me what is MOST important when I write, is that God's Spirit can move through me and give me the message. Each article I write is written through much prayer and seeking the Lord. I do not believe in teaching my own theories. That is also the reason I quote the Bible all the time (and it is a Bible Study section). Bible is the text book for my life. I live by it... I am trying to become a better person through it... I also need the Love that flows through its pages. It is a love book from the Lord to us... and that is what I am so excited about!! Wow! ...though I have learned now that I need to be more clear for those who read my articles and are not Christians yet. Thank You for helping me to see that.

I truly do appreciate Your input. Thank You.

Many blessings to You,

Eve Juurik

Dear Stephen, thank You for Your kind comment. It is true that all those principles that even secular teachers use and have used for centuries, principles that work, have come out of the Bible.

I wish You many blessings and success in Your undertakings,

Eve

I was so burdened by a dream that today i was discourgaged by news from man in which I am asking for your prayers that God will turn things around and that our dream be fulfilled. Pray that our eyes stay on God and not our circumstance.
