Can anyone say cat fight?
Kristy Swanson of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fame and most recently "Skating With Celebrities" reality show is in the news again. Swanson was arrested late Saturday night for what seems to be a real live cat fight with the ex-wife of her skating partner Lloyd Eisler.
The real life soap opera keeps getting more and more interesting. Apparently while Eisler and Swanson were partners in the ice on the show, they were also becoming partners off the show as well, if you get the picture.
The problem with that is that Eisler left his pregnant wife, Marcia O'Brien, to be with Swanson. Fast forward to Saturday night, Swanson was charged with allegedly assaulting O'Brien in Ontario. But the story doesn't end there. Swanson is filing counter charges against O'Brien saying that O'Brien assaulted her. O'Brien has yet to be arrested and the police department is expected to make a determination by tomorrow.
According to people.com, Swanson claims O'Brien attacked her in front of Eisler and O'Brien's children. The altercation allegedly occurred when Swanson, Eisler and their four-month-old son, Magnus, arrived at O'Brien's house on Saturday to pick up his two other sons, ages 3 and 1, for the Father's Day weekend.
Eisler and O'Brien are currently in a custody battle over the two sons. Swanson said that photos were taken of injuries she received during the altercation.
My question is when are the parties involved going to grow up? I can imagine losing a husband while pregnant can be horrifying and seemingly impossible to get over, but why not work on not involving or using the kids as leverage in the disagreement? It seems the women are acting like they are in high school all over again, fighting over a boy. O'Brien needs to ask herself if Eisler is really worth all this trouble. She needs to strive to remain calm so that her kids can have the best possible life. They do not need the extra stress of seeing their mom lose her temper.
In the meantime, it seems Hollywood has once again lost the concept of reailty. Adults need to work out their problems, not throw punches as if they were characters in a trashy soap opera.
