Almost as soon as the console exploded onto the market the Nintendo wii stocks just weren’t enough. It was obvious that the demand far outstripped the supply. People were seen camping in door ways and standing in line for days at a time.
So what made the Nintendo wii so popular? Some say that the viral marketing tactics implemented on u tube are to blame…..Others say that it was the quick TV ads that stirred the masses up.
I, on the other hand, believe that it was simply word of mouth about the superb control methods that the Nintendo wii uses. No fiddling with joysticks, this is the closest you can get to playing - tennis, golf or practically any other sport in the comfort of your living room.
The difference with the wii is that it gets you involved in the game in a whole new way. You need to put the effort in by swinging your arms about, this has never been implemented on this scale before and as you stand there in your dressing gown with your arms flailing about you can almost feel the buzz and satisfaction that the real sports people get.
The wii’s controller is what makes this possible. Rather than the traditional method of the joystick and buttons you hold the controller and swing it about to control the characters on the screen.
The Nintendo wii’s lack of stock could have been predicted given the wii’s technical stats:
Will play gamecube games as well as wii.
Clean modern design.
Less than 2 inches thick, it takes up very little space.
Wireless capability for network or internet.
Power PC Processor developed as a joint development with IBM and ATI.
Upto 4 players.
AV outputs for component, S-video or composite.
Unique controller that allows control by swinging it in 3 dimensional space.
In my opinion, the controller alone is enough to sell the Nintendo wii. If you don’t already have one I would suggest an immediate purchase! The cheapest way is to buy wholesale, get a list of wii providers Here .
