Just what are we talking about or who are we talking about when we say the caring heart, the caring soul?

What I am referring to are those multitudes of people who give of themselves in many ways each and every day in big ways and small. They can be the poor, average, wealthy, they can be any color, race, sex, or creed, but they all have one common component, compassion.

Yes, these are the friends that are always there for you. The stranger who is always there in time of need? The lover who gives more of themselves then you can possibly give to them. Yes, the one who hurts for your failures, your trials, your slips in life and crys, hugs and extols and shares your successes.

Yes these are the ones who always try to find good in everything. They try to understand the human weaknesses and provide that which is missing in the hope they can make something that just might be bad or harmful into something that if just went another way it might have been beneficial.

Yes, they are the volunteers, they are the givers, and they are the ones who hurt, care and love with intensity. They cry over the simplest things. They encourage and even when hurt directly by thought, word or deed find it in their heart and soul to forgive.

Yes, these types think not of themselves and material things, while nice, they are not of any real importance to them. It is about love, happiness, joy and people. They truly possess love of neighbor. In fact they usually possess the very core attributes and characteristics that we all covet but fail at. It is as if they come naturally to them.

Yes, they can be intense, they can even show emotion like anger, and they can raise their voice when they need to, they can chastise and yes they can give advice. Yet, it is always done with care, concern, and the very best for the person it is directed at. No, we do not at times have to like it but it is given with total care and love and it usually is speaking of the truth and from experience and given not to harm but help.

They do not lie, swear, cheat or connive. They are just what is the best we would all like to think we could become. Yet, these people usually hold within them the hurts of others, the hurts caused by others and sometime fostered upon them. Yes, they take them unto themselves and somehow keep them inside, content to not hurt the other nor to atatck the other.

I am a fortunate man in that as I look at my family, my loved ones, I see it in their character, their attributes, their very being. I am sure many of you see the same in your loved ones. Yet, I see it in their thoughts, words, deeds, tears and the ctions that they demonstrate. It is an outward expression and sign of the heart. That they care for others amd ask nothing in return. How strange it is for many to believe. That they give and ask nothing in return.

Yet, in many cases they are alone. Alone because the majority in this world is not that way, they do not think that way. They are strange to those who use, exploit and are cold and lacking of all compassion within.

Yes, the world would be a better place if the majority were these types. I for one, as I see the hurt my loved ones carry, understand that this is not to be. This is the world of the me. Yes, it works for me types.

Yet, I am proud to see my loved ones as they are and I cry inside for the hurt they carry. I look at those that I have met in my life that are similar and I am thankful they were and are in my life. I am thankful that these are the ones who are there for us all when the going gets tough, wwhen we are down, alone with no where to turn.

Yes, if you have one or more in your life how very fortunate you are. Yes they are the caring heart, the caring soul and we should treasure their very being!

What works for me Mr. Melaccio as far as being happy. Is the happiness of another, how can one person be happy all by themselves? It's giving, sharing and loving that brings out our humanity. I believe this is what is going to save us as people if we heed to God's work. As you have just pointed out the people who take the time to know their neighbor. For to know is to love
