Life can be moving along in the fashion you are used to, and all of a sudden, something changes, it throws you off balance, you dabble a bit in the anger and frustration, but then, its time to get back up, and make life even better that it was. I am a very persistent person, and always have been. It's been one of my greatest strengths.
I am going through a life altering process right now, and it isn't easy by any means. It is merely a bump in the road. I will persist through it, and come out the other end, successful at keeping my dignity and my rights in tact. My success will be to live a wonderful existence in my second half of life. (if I live to be 102!) I am hopeful about the future. I have kids that are growing, and grown. I'm sure there will be grandchildren on the horizon. There will be visits, and happiness, and fulfillment. I have finally started writing for people to see, and I plan on continuing to do so, maybe I'll write a book. Being persistent, I know I'll get it done.
There is a house a few miles away that burned to the ground two or three years ago. My family and I saw the smoke, and watched some of it burn, as these poor people lost everything they owned. As time went on, I'd pass by and see the rubble. It always made me sad. Then, I started seeing a demolition, and eventually, a foundation, and these people built their dream home back up again, only it's even better than the first. The failure they had to endure pumped up their persistence, and out of failure, came success. They weren't thinking that way as they watched in horror as their material life went up in smoke. But their faith prevailed, and now they have a new, improved, beautiful dream house.
Persistent people begin their success where others end in failure. Say you are working at a job, and your boss is very difficult and demanding and hard to work with. One day, you find out she has been fired. You want the job she had. They get a temporary replacement, and you are persistent in your quest. You work harder, make deadlines, stay focused, and do the best you can, and then some. You get the job, and you are a new woman. You are happy, fulfilled, and proud of yourself. You began your success where someone else wasn't doing their job, and failed. She was fired, you got promoted.
It just shows how important persistence is in our lives.
If someone is not doing what is intended for them, they will fail. And I believe if one isn't being persistent in an honorable and honest way, they will receive no success. Good intention must be present in all persistence. If someone goes to shoot someone and the gun jams, and he keeps trying until it finally goes off, and he kills the guy, was his persistence of the same theory?
Persistent people begin their success where others end in failure.
This quote is simply, in my opinion, trying to say that we must be persistent in our lives and our causes, desires, dreams, and be strong enough to use our persistence and our strength and intelligence to forge us through this life, having done the best we could with what we had.
