Audio/ Music recording has been enhanced a lot and been lifted up alongwith the new TechEra. All the professional Audio recording studios are forced to upgrade their eqiuments from old king sized hardware into a computer based Audio recording sysem which definitely would let them to step into the most demanded digital audio recordings.
In London city, I have never seen such an audio recording studio who is not equiped with software technology with it. All professional singers like Gerge Micheal, Beatles, Abba etc.. prefer to record their albums with computer based audio recording studios.
With this type of studio, you can have software where you can edit the vocal/ music tracks up to whatever extent you could ever imagine, create hormonies, chorus, flagers, vocoders and many more thousands of digital audio effect using third party plu-ins.
As I am running a digital Audio studio named Melody Tracks in London http://www.melodytracks.com , I had to have a strange experience to record a music mad vocalist who hasn't got the ability to sing alongwith the rhythm (beat) but he has got attractive vocal with good sense of SUR but he still didn't agree not being a singer. Well' finally, I decided to fullfil his desire to get him recorded, :-) everything out of beat.
NOW I had to use all of my experties here very carefully, I started cutting, copying, pasting, streching, skewing blau blau... and finally I could not imagine that it was so perfect exactly in rhythm along with the beat thouh I had to record lines & line for each lyircs.
So, what I am trying to write about the computer based recording is, it can really hide the mistakes as long as it upboost the quality of a top vocalist as well.
A good news for travelling musician is to have a portable audio studio which is a combination of a Laptop and a MIDI controller keyboard interacted with a software and you can generate a high quality finalized .Wav, .CDA & MIDIs with that.
