This article is a follow up to the blackmailer of Tom Cruise's Wedding Photos, who was recently featured in one of my articles. The blackmailer had already plead guilty, and everyone thought it was basically over.
His confirmed suicide came after being put under house arrest, David Hans Schmidt, faced up to two years in a Federal Prison, with a pending hearing on Oct 11th, where he was scheduled to enter his formal guilty plea, and ask the courts to be released on probation. His bond was paid, which allegedly was $100,000 US, and he was fined $250,000 under a plea agreement that was filed on the 24th of August in LA.
He was busted in July, when he began his blackmailing attempts on Tom Cruise for over a million US dollars, as he had photos of Tom and Katie's wedding, and Tom answered through the mouth of the FBI.
David Hans Schmidt had been a thorn in the side of Hollywood stars for several years, where he stole Paris Hilton's Diary from the city locker in LA, and otherwise private photos of Paris that she'd prefer the world not see. He also was into striking deals over questionable videos and pics of stars that were not meant for public eyes.. he had a line of extortion long before he was caught.
Strangely enough, the buzz on the street says, his lawyer Nancy Kardon, was dismayed by the loss of her client, claiming David Hans Schmidt, was a nice man!
