The thief who stole the 100s of photos, and Laptops for the New Indiana Jones Flick, (and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) has been caught!
Can you imagine? The computers, and pictures, at the studio for Steven Spielberg, containing the Indiana Jones 4, were taken right out from under Paramount s nose!
According to Andrew Blankstein and Richard Winton of the Los Angeles Times, on October 4, 2007, they put quite well when they said, "The L.A. County sheriff's detectives took a page from one of Indiana Jones' adventures while solving the case of the missing laptops."
These Detectives worked so swiftly, that the culprit didn't even have time to sell the photos online! These LA Detectives, worked so fast no one had time to put an alert out online to help Steve Get His Indiana Jones Pics BACK! Which is what this article originally was going to be called.
According to LA Times, the Officials at Paramount Pictures caught wind of someone trying to sell the Indiana Jones Pictures to some Internet Gossip sites, and the Detectives posed as potential buyers. Then just like smooth operators, they emailed him, setup a meeting to buy the photos in a hotel, and swooped in and saved the day!
Absolutely Amazing!
I bet poor Steve Spielberg feels like someone who just found their lost puppy!
I know, its tragic that it happened at all.
Folks who steal movies usually wait until the movie is put on some illegal movie site, usually before or during it hitting theaters. And if that isn't bad enough, now people are daring enough to simple steal it before it even goes to print.
Tisk! Tisk!
Poor Steve must be hopping mad!
A little recap?
Sure.. here ya go!
The movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is being released in theaters May 22, 2008, marking 19 years since the first of the segments were released.
According to the Los Angeles Times, who reported on the theft on Oct 03/07, quoted Marvin Levy as saying, "We want to warn the media that anything that is offered is stolen property. We know it is out there."
They knew the thefts were recent, at Paramount, but were unsure the circumstances to how their laptops and photos were stolen. The LA Detectives jumped on it right away, got their sources, setup the sting, and stung the bee.
DreamWorks has a distribution deal with Paramount Pictures, a unit of Viacom Inc.
Reportedly Harrison Ford will be reprising his role, and a new character played by Shia LaBeouf will be joining him, along with an Aussie Actress, Cate Blanchett.
Ahem!
Just incase the guy, who is currently being held on suspicion of theft, a Cerritos guy who also happens to be on probation, managed to sell anything, and you hear about it.
Do Steve a favor!
Be a nice guy, (gal), and report it to the LA Sheriffs' Department.
We wouldn't want Steve Spielberg to stomp on his hat and quit on us now would we? The world would be a sad place without Steves' enhancement of quality movies. Let that be a lesson to you would be thieves in LA, those LA Detectives of the Sheriff's Departments are GOOD! They are on the ball, they are swift as the wind.. and not ones to reckon with.
Mwah to Steven Spielberg,
And Mwah to you darlen's!
