At the time of the ritual, a copy of the Quran is placed between the bride and groom and the bridal couple is only allowed to look at each other through mirrors.
The post Muslim wedding program consists of the Wedding Rukshati. Its the event wherein the Bride leaves the marriage place along with her husband. The wedding ceremony ends tearfully as the bride leaves her parents home to join her husband in her his house in a tradition known as Rukshat. The bride is welcomed into the grooms home by her mother in-law who holds the Quran over her head as she enters the doorstep. The last ritual is the wedding Valima where a reception is thrown by the grooms side to honor and welcome the bride into their family.
