There are many benefits in having made to measure wedding dresses but the biggest benefit has to be comfort. In many of the off the peg dresses the bones are not placed correctly for your shape and do not follow your natural curves. These bones have a tendency to bend against your shape making them stick out of the lining causing you discomfort. In the make up of made to measure wedding dresses the bones are capped so they dont push through the lining, but they also follow your curves and add support where you need it making your dress a pleasure to wear.

The key benefit for larger ladies requiring made to measure wedding dresses is support, with a properly fitted bodice a larger lady does not need to wear a bra. The interlinings and the correct placement of the bones in the made to measure wedding dresses will keep the larger sized ladies bust in place and will support them comfortably.

For the slender ladies the bodices of the made to measure wedding dresses can be used to enhance body shape. The bust curve can be improved and the hips can be exaggerated to make the waist look smaller giving a very appealing hourglass shape.

It is a well known fact that a lot of wedding dresses have unsightly creases and wrinkles around the waist, bust and hips areas. This is because of two very important factors. Number one, being the dress is not interlined properly if at all, which is a common problem with wedding dresses. In made to measure wedding dresses interlinings are sandwiched together to create each panel giving a more supported bodice finish. Number two, the dress doesnt fit. Its as simple as that, the fabric is being stretched in some areas and gaping in others causing every lump and bump to be seen and throwing in a few of its own.

In some cases wedding dresses dont last the day because they have been mass produced on production lines in factories in cheap labour countries. Sequins may become dislodged. Seams have been known to rip open. Made to measure wedding dresses are made with care and attention normally by the designer for you. The quality in these dresses wont let you down on the day or half way through it. The dress is the designers art work and they will not cut corners. One thing to look out for is some dresses are being sold as UK designed when they are not always made in the UK.

One of the biggest disappointments of wedding dresses is seeing a beautiful dress spoilt by the view of a zip straight up the back, whereas made to measure wedding dresses can be designed with concealed zips and these can be placed in the side panels under your arm when your dress is created. Another thing to bear in mind is strain on the zip, in some cases dress zips start to pull open revealing the teeth of the zip and resulting in the zip failing. This can be caused by cheap zips or maybe the dress is too tight. As I mentioned before, made to measure wedding dresses are the designers work of art so they wont use cheap zips and the dress wont be too tight.

Gaping neck lines haunt every bride and this may be for the reason they are not used to wearing a strapless dress, the bride is the centre of attention and everyones looking at her, she is convinced you can see what she can see when she looks down. The chances are you cant but she still feels the need to hold the front of the dress when talking to guests. Made to measure wedding dresses are created to suit your measurements, the neck line will sit flat against your chest and the bust will be covered and supported correctly.

You can have an off the peg dress altered but this involves cutting the stitches somewhere in the lining and making a new stitch line, which is never flattering and then slip stitching the lining closed again, this is an additional cost. Made to measure wedding dresses will not need altering and so do not have unsightly linings wear the dress has been opened.

The cost of most made to measure wedding dresses is not as much as you would think. Incorporate the price of the dresses you have looked at with the bill of the alteration. Now compare this with our prices at www.englishbridalcouture.com.
