Yeah right!

This release would probably best be titled " Find American Made Computers". Why? Because you can't. You can't because there are none. Maybe it should be titled " Because There Are None"...because there are none!

Have you really checked one of those big box computers lately at Wal Mart, Office Depot, Circuit City or your corner computer shop? " Made in China" is typically stamped all over the box, and even though our dogs were poisoned, our children are playing with toys loaded with leaded paint, the U.S. had to return ships laden with "bad" sea food, and every day brings a new fear or recall we go blindly on our self centered way.

God knows America needs to be a service oriented industry and nation. We do not wish to work up a sweat or get dirt under our finger nails when such menial labor can be outsourced off shore so cheaply. Our children are not even allowed to play for fear they might get hurt, get sick or get dirty.

Every child needs a broken bone, the mumps and measles, a big old dirty collie dog like Lassie to play with, and a freshly baked mud pie. We were happier when that was the norm. Both adults and children were generally healthier then, and the electronics, equipment, machines and automobiles we bought and used were American Made - and boy did we take pride in them. Like the earlier computers they were made of metal not plastic, they were not throw away toys, they lasted longer, and above all they contributed to the pride, world standing, and economy of the then Great United States of America.

Get the kid out from in front of the helevision and away from X Box - Bill Gates has enough of your money. Send him outside to play. His whole nature will improve. He will be less sluggish, grumpy, and disrespectful - he might even get his pants back up over his butt. Confiscate his imported cell phone and put him in bed by 9:00 PM and watch him start to excel at school - he might even learn to be a giver instead of taking all the time. Demand and buy American when possible and watch the whole world improve. Raise something and purchase something you can and will take pride in. We will all be the better for it!

Check this Buy American web page and notice there are no computers or computer parts made in the U.S.:

Laptop Computers Made in The USA Check The List of American Made Products at U.S. Stuff and Note that while there is a "Computer" category, it has no (absolutely no) item listed.

Check this C/NET Forum started four (4) years ago in 2003 searching for a computer " with mostly American made components". Not another posting after the first inquiry. Why? Because there are none.

Go ahead, P L E A S E, search Google or Yahoo or Copernic or anywhere else you choose for American made computers, American made computer parts, etc. There are none...not any more. What happened in Silicon Valley? Where did the huge manufacturing centers that were once numerous across this Great Land (where a man could be assured of a job and work it all his life without fear of losing it) go? Why have we lost the hearts and minds of our own people? The Anglo's took this land away from the American Indian and then gave it to the third world.

What can we do? Buy custom built from an American. Sure the initial investment will be a bit more and it will still be built with imported parts, but it will be built better with the best possible parts for the money. You see, Americans don't live cheaply in one room apartments without furniture existing primarily on a diet of rice or share an outside toilet and common cooking areas with other families. But then why should we, we don't even share a love for our mother country or our neighbor.

You see, I really am the Tennessee Mountain Man! But, you will not find many of us with the encroachment of our sissified and politically correct society. Why? Because there are none.

John, Martin, Abraham, Jack, Ronnie and The Duke are dead, and I don't feel very well. So I really must go now.

Americans have no one to blame but THEMSELVES ! If the american public didn't demand $29.99 dvd players and $50.00 an hour wages to do the same job somone in China or India will do for $2.00 an hour, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Thank you much for this page. I love My country and people. Sometimes though i am a bit embarrassed, we have
become so cheap, we all take things for granite. Many times we shun the truth so everyone will be happy, and seem so smart.
With that said, to the true Americans fight the good fight, changes we hate only come when our attention is diverted. GR

Thank you. You are correct as I have been looking for an American made laptop and can't find one. I refuse to buy China made of anything if I can help it! Americans demand good pay for their work and see what comes from China, you get what you paid for...a cheap product that will probably end up killing you. Stop blaming working Americans but blame the cheap companies that don't want to pay the taxes or workers. They want the money in their pockets. Yes, America is up for sale for every country to buy up!

Intel manufactures many of its chips in the United States. Their engineering is primarily in Oregon and California, and a lot of manufacturing is in Arizona.

I had money in hand ready to buy a new Dell computer laptop computer from Best Buy. The sales rep got the computer down from the high storage bin and I noticed it said Made in China. I decided I would wait until I could buy a laptop computer made in the USA. Yes they are about 2 or 3 times more expensive, but you have to draw your line in the sand somewhere and I choose to pay more for an American made computer. China is polluting our environment at record speed and mowing down 100 year old trees like they were last week's grass. We have to take a stand and start demanding quality American Made products again or the US dollar will continue to decline and Americans will continue to lose their jobs. I'm just one person and I realize one person is not going to change the entire American economy, but if every American looked on the box for a Made in China sticker, label or printing and not buy anything from China anymore American companies would stop sending their manufacturing facilities to China. Wal-Mart started this insanity and so I would encourage people to stop buying from them as well.

I happened across your site tonight as I searched the Gateway website, where I purchased my desktop. I was happy to learn, at the time, that the company was, at least, still owned by Americans. To my dismay, as I looked for my daughter's college laptop, I read this evening that they sold out in 10/07 to Acer. Where was everyone when there were still a few American-made goods out there?? Where the heck is our government?? Oh, yes, they are busy making deals with the foreign companies to invest their own money...

systemaxpc  Claims to be 100% American, they are assembled here, tech support here, but I just assume some component must have passed through China, at some point. I'm still researching (which is how I came across your page). I'd be happy to keep you updated.

Try Polywell, since I can type the link, just type Polywell dot com.  They're a company based in San Francisco, pretty much assembled in US still, you can't really do anything about components such as hard drives and video cards but they're as close as you can get. They've been around since 1987. I try to buy made or assembled in US as much as I can.

who gives a damn if they are made in China? The truth is, most of the scaples that surgeons use are made in china.....and you don't hear people screamin' "Don't use that thar scapel on me, Doc 'cuz it twern't made in the USofA." NO, you wouldn't care if something came from China if it involved saving your life. IF you are so against something being made overseas, then maybe YOU should be the one to build them here. And you want to talk about pride? I am proud. I'm proud that I am a HUMAN living my life on a GLOBAL home. One World! A New world!

I care. Many people care. And so should you. Simply put, Americans buy more than we produce. That leads to large trade imbalances, which in turn lead to massive borrowing from, yes, China. Massive debt contributes to the economic problems we're seeing at present. There is nothing wrong with choosing to borrow less and buy more locally made products.  In fact, if Americans do not stop spending more than we produce, our economy will falter further and China will lose its biggest market. That's not good for the US or for China.

Lets reclaim our country! Maybe not all of it, but the majority? THINK before you spend your stimulus at Wal-Mart, they are China's sixth largest trading partner

Personally I have recently founded a company in Illinois to bring all of the assembly, support and services work back on shore. We are 100% staying here with this portion of the business, and always looking for more domestic sources that we can be cost-competitive with for components. Check us out if you're really interested.  The company is called Total Aura.

This is a great article and it is 100% true we Americans should keep our great Nation American. Buy American made products everytime you can get it. Even if the product costs more, the money helps out fellow Americans and eventually comes back to you. Always keep the United States of America American, never buy forgien products. Also, Polywell is a great computer company which is mostly made in the USA in South San Fransisco actually. Well this is kinda long but always remember one thing, keep America American, our Nation will stay strong, American Strong and Proud.
