One thing is for sure, adoption can be a very overwhelming endeavor! My wife Jenny and I were only 27 years old when we decided adoption was for us. We had one son naturally and now it was the time where we wante another one but..
..Jenny didn't want to be pregnant again! So we began looking for a good orphanage to adopt from.
We finally found one in Haiti, it appealed to us because it was somewhat close to the U.S, 2 hours off Florida to be exact. It was also fairly inexpensive too, only $10k. Anyways we went there and spent a week at the orphanage and picked out girl we wanted. We had a feeling who we would pick before we even met her, but went with an open mind nontheless. We we got there we knew she was the one that would fit well with our son. Over a year later we had her home!
The last year has just flew by, when she got here in 2005 she was 6 years old and hardly knew any English. Since then she has moved to the top in her class, as a matter of fact just in 2007 she qualified out for the state speech and the state spelling bee. She's in 2nd grade and reads on a 4th grade level!!!
We are very proud of her and she has been a great addtion to our family. If you have been looking for that special someone to take home with you, you'll want to check the orphanage out or see pics of our family go to http://ezinearticles.com/?Christian-International-Adoption---Why-We-Chose-Haiti-For-Our-International-Adoption & id=763551 There is an entire yahoo group with parents that have adopted from this orphanage go to groups.yahoo.com and type in HCRM for the group name, Adopt a Child, Make a Difference!!
