J.K. Rowling, the writer of the Harry Potter books will be in New York this week. She is scheduled to attend two events. One is for school children only, but, for those adult fans, they can enjoy a view of J.K., at Carnegie Hall, in NY, this Friday, the 19th of October.
Those of you who don't live in New York, might of had the chance to see her, as she was also scheduled to visit Los Angeles, and New Orleans where 1600 children were set to listen to her reading. Those two stops are reportedly open to school children.
Since July 007, Scholastic, J.K. Rowlings U.S. Publisher, had held a contest, inviting schools in the listed cities to hold a draw with students names in a sorting hat, and were selected to attend the event with J.K. Rowling. The students will attend with J.K., and she will read to the students from her new book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and there will be an open discussion with the students, as well as a book signing.

Thursday, 10/18: Ernest N. Morial Auditorium at the Convention Center in New Orleans
Friday, 10/19: New York 's Carnegie Hall 7 p.m. (open to adults)

J.K. Rowling is extending her Open Book Tour to Toronto Canada, on October 23rd 007, at the Wintergarden Theater, downtown TO, which is a morning schedule. All ages are welcomed, and its hosted by J.K. Rowling's Canadian Publisher, from Vancouver's Raincoast Books. J.K., will be reading from Harry Potter, and the Deathly Hallows, and having an open discussion, as well as book signings. Any one interested in obtaining tickets can check it out at their local library, can visit Raincoast's website and enter for the drawing that awards 10 pairs of tickets daily. Tickets are also being given out through Canadian libraries and the country's 79 public and Catholic school boards.
