Surveys are a great way to express your opinions and influence consumer products and services. The length of a survey will differ depending upon the requirements stipulated by those carrying out the market research. The longer the survey the greater the reward. Below are a range of US and UK based survey sites.

OpinionSquare

Opinion Square are keen to get your opinions on a variety or products and services to help influence future developments. Membership is free and you earn rewards for every survey you complete as well as an entry into their $100,000 sweepstake. Opinion Square are keen to stress that they do not sell your personal information and they won't spam you either. Rewards are based upon the nature and length of the survey and there is a huge selection to choose from. At the lower end you your rewards are $5 gift cards for Blockbuster, Pizza Hut, TGI Fridays and Starbucks and lots of other well known companies. At the higher end you can choose from household electrical items or free subscriptions to Chocolate clubs!

Acop

American Consumer Opinions are probably one of the most well known survey sites. They welcome both US and international participants and each survey you complete is paid by cheque/check, 4 weeks after the survey closes . Surveys typically pay between $4 and $50 depending upon the length. And payments are made in the currency of your country of residence so if you live in the UK you'll be paid in GBP or if you live in Germany you'll receive Euros.

Permissionresearch

This site offers entry into its monthly cash prize draws (top prize $100,000 in return for completing surveys). In addition as a member you can download free anti virus software, screensavers, and interactive games. It feels more like a community than a research organisation. This site also excepts non US members.

Surveysforprofit

Surveys4Profit works with a variety of research companies to enable you as a member to identify tailored surveys. This means that there can often be a more frequent number of surveys because they are not linked into one particular scheme. Registration is free and simple to complete. Surveys4Profit privacy policy states clearly that it does not sell your personal information which should mean that you are less likely to get spammed be unknown companies. It's still quite a new site having been set up in 2004 which means that survey payments are still quite generous in the region of between $5 and $75.

Nielsennetpanel

Nielsen/Netratings are a market research company, who have been involved in consumer research for around 50 years. This site is centered upon gathering information about your online preferences for use in developing consumer products and services. It's free and simple to become a member and they enter you into a compe tition in which you can win on of 50 cash prizes of $1,000 for those who take part. You can also earn additional entries if you refer friends to the program.

Ciao

Get paid to undertake surveys of between 10-20 minutes in length. Alternatively you can post reviews of your favourite products and services which earn you money depending on ratings from other users.

Lightspeedpanel

Lightspeed research is open to all UK residents. After your initial registration you are automatically entered into their 2,000 prize draw. In addition you can earn points for taking surveys of between 10 and 30 minutes in length. These points can be exchanged for a host of gift certificates with you can spend online. A great way to earn money from your opinions on a variety of consumer products and services.

Testandvote

You receive points each time you complete a survey or give an opinion and these can be exchanged for gift vouchers with a variety of online retailers. The frequency of surveys that users receive appears to be quite good compared with some other survey sites.

Ipoints

You can earn points for all the online purchases you make, which are then converted into rewards. Ipoints has by far the best reward scheme for the sheer variety of rewards that your points can be exchanged for including CD'S, DVD'S and days out and experiential packages. You can also earn points without making online purchases by simply completing short surveys and voting in polls.
