A follow up to Condoleezza Rice, and her popularity abroad.
Did you know that in 2004, the Brits threw a birthday part for Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice?
It was reported on MSNBC, Britain's ambassador to the United States, David Manning, planned a special birthday party for her, and even George Bush and his wife attended. Manning, went as far as to have a gown ordered just for her, by Rice's fav designer, Oscar De la Renta, she slipped into scarlet gown, and Manning arranged for Rice's personal stylist to be present, to do her hair, and to top it off, the pianist Van Cliburn played the national anthem for Rice's grand entrance to her surprise birthday party. Rice had no idea about the party until she got there.
Kim Howells, a junior Foreign Office minister, told the legislator in the written reply that the dinner in question was held in honor of U.S. Secretary of State Rice and attended by the president, first lady and other senior figures. There were 111 guests and the cost was $9,512.05.
Who else is singing her praises?
I just found this link, and unfortunetly not all the functions work properly, however, they explain the reasons, and guide you through anyway.
It is a site calling for petitions to be signed to nominate Rice, and convince her to run.
So wonderful, that someone would do that, the site looks amazing, good job.
